I just entered a writing contest the other day. I have been working forever on submissions, but never came up with that "perfect" literary creation I was hoping for. My honey decided to raid my stash and choose some of those for me, which I was kind of nervous about because they're kind of personal. EEEEK!So now I'm just waiting for the results. There was a poetry and a fiction category, first prize in each being 100 bucks. So that was my dilemma... do I skip it because I couldn't come up with anything or go ahead and take a chance even though what I turned in is not likely to be what they're looking for. Decisions, decisions. Sag with Libra moon says, "When in doubt, go for it and regret it later (for a minute anyway) if need be!" One of my professors has been after me for three years to submit something and this is the first time I've done it. I kind of felt like I had to since I told him I've been working on this for the last few months. But then again... This thread is pointless. Just expelling some of my anxiety! I'll let ya know how it goes... IP: Logged |

Oh, you'll totally win! If you don't, the judges are obviously stupid. That's my final answer.IP: Logged |

Whenever you have to make a choice between action and inaction, always choose action. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

So hey, do you think you'd like to share what you won with? If it's too personal, I understand... IP: Logged |
