Thanks, I was thinking of him last night- He such a nice old man.
I just have this urge to make his life better before he leaves.

He could've been Jesus.
He might've been an Angel.

SunChild,
it's you, and others like you, that are not of this world. And I know it's hard living in this world, where the majority are blind and deaf to the real spiritual meaning of life on Earth; where the majority seek ego fulfilment through shallow and empty work; through the attainment of wealth in order to feel real; through treating others as smaller in order to feel bigger; it is these things and more that make my heart ache and despair for the world.
But it is you, and others like you, that give me hope; hope that your numbers will grow and swell and take over the world; and through your silent, secret caring and giving will open the eyes and ears of the ill majority and mute their tongues;
1John 2:15 " Do not be loving the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him".
1John 2:16 "because everything in the world - the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one's means in life - does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world".
These words, from the Bible, were written thousands of years ago; could have been written yesterday.
My deepest heartfelt love and gratitude to all you kindred spirits out there in our separate world called LindaLand.
P.S. SunChild - your poem moved my soul...
so much, that it makes me want to go out there and grab the world by its throat and shake it into submission !

Very good poem, Sunchild.

OUCH, Maklhouf! There's an element of truth to what you say, but you must remember that as a society we have been conditioned to recognise certain (stereotypical) appearances that indicate whether a person is down and out or well-off. And whether we like it or not, we are members of this society, although we attempt, by our striving to defeat ego and nourish the soul, to set ourselves apart from this world. And by "this world", I mean the majority of people who go about their business with no thought of Higher S-elves, Souls, and so on during their daily interactions with others. I believe that when a person is genuine of spirit, they will be guided to do the right thing. I believe SunChild did the right thing. There are some people who feed their own egos by being "do-gooders" in society - SunChild is NOT one of those. She merely shared what she had with someone who needed it.

Hi maklhouf,
Even if it's a smile or a laugh I can offer someone who seems down- then that is great.
What's the harm in that?
I don't expect him to be 'changed' forever because of me.
It's up to the person alone to change their own lives, but this man was happy that someone noticed him, that is all.
GuardianAngel is right.

..
Alignment

Plodding along - I struggle
I inhale - I exhale life
Changing life - is ever my changing my perception
But yet I am here in the moment
I cannot go anywhere but here
My struggle is always through my soul's center
It beckons and calls
For me the action is reciprocal
There, when aligned my thoughts and feelings are conditioned for pure motives
I take comfort in responding to my soul

Smiles are universal currency, but even smiles can be co-ercive. Touching can be problematic. I completely know your heart is in the right place, but try looking at what it is you need from him instead.

Her reaction to your post alone, maklhouf will tell you all you need to know about her character, and what she 'needs' by interacting in a kind way, and being concerned for others.
It is her heart.
Maybe you are sad because you have to question these things, and immediately suspect motives?
Not everything can be compartmentalized.
You and I know you are just poking, and pulling at straws...
Maybe what you say can be applied to another situation, but if you follow Sunchild's posts, you will know what a complete 'nit-picker' you are being.
If it were me, I'd tear a strip out of you, for even implying my motives were tainted by selfishness... oh, I know you want to have a deep philosophical discussion about how everything is derived from the ego, blah blah blah. I hear you.
But I think by now, we all know I jump on soapboxes, and make a big fuss when someone pokes at people I respect and love.
She explained, people backed her up, not that she NEEDS to explain, nor that you'd even get it.
So go start another post about the same thing, and expand on this thing you've touched on.
Her poem is beautiful, and this thread should remain a pure vessel for it.

That brought tears to my eyes SunChild, it reminded me of all the beautiful homeless people I've seen or talked to and that have touched me. You are such a beautiful person

And Pixie, I could not have said that better myself...really.

It's nice to find anything that contains her spirit. I cherish this thread.

I have already forgiven her.

As for the man she married, I am not ready to feel anything yet.
