What is the price to pay
for a mistake that was never
meant to be made, and accident.
Just now as the wind blew past
I could have sworn laughter
was blowing with it.
A forest of faces, a myriad
of possibilities, so many things.
A mistake that will be paid for
with every breath I take.
But what is the price?
And why do I feel that it is my
soul, my heart that will be the
poor ones at the end of this?
A price above rubies but to you
I was never a diamond.
Blindly paying the collector
as you hold out your hand for
your ransom.
What is the price?
I have no idea, it never seems to stop.
I have a price to pay,
something I cannot see.
And you're the innocent one
only in your head.
So why is it my minute mistake
is the one that must be paid for
with everything I have?
I'd never ask you to pay
for all the times you ran away
and for all the times you made me cry.
So why am I paying for worrying,
and why won't you just hear me out?
Forgive, but you'll never forget will you?
I will forever have a price to pay
no matter if we are back one day.
I will still pay,
so what is the price?------------------
