sparked like a lick of lightening
electrified, a fence between
a powerful staff and a delicate stem
the defence broken in half by only a whisper
or a soul cry I can't tell the difference
opposites opposing only by choosing
between losing and more losing
but by degree (almost minute degree)
the change was rampant and powerful
I caught the chain in my teeth happily
perhaps I asked for it but I only knew I wanted it after the meeting
I replay it like a movie of my birth
and now the world is shades of want and rewind
and forward motion slowed.....
like the kiss of life and death
a new life thickly shadowed
and borrowed and made
I want more than words
I long beyond imagining
this won't quite leave the realm of tragedy
because to think.... to be... to become
this war was too easily won,
I am no victor or victim
I am somewhere between the fence
where I can't see the divisions,
only the sun shining between the bolts of lightening
and the smudges on my skin
that came from the places I let you in
no real smudges though
they are as sweet and sticky
as the plump kiss of fruit on a warm day
nurturing the needing belly
making the sorrow go away

How do you do it, Pixie? Your poems are so intensely personal that I don't understand half of what they refer to, yet your imagery is so vibrant that I'm moved to laughter and tears anyway.

Good stuff!

Bump.. just because I can.
and by the way.. Thank you both for commenting. Much appreciated.
When I wrote it I wanted to shout it out yet make it disappear... I didn't want to keep it high on the list.

so I visit it now with kindness.
