02/15/06 I am blessed in so many ways Not one father, but many Gracing me, each in their own way Imparting pearls of wisdom The first man who fills this void he was my English professor for two years A perceptive, inquisitive mind he had A heart full of empathy, quietly wise Another has always been there even when I doubt his very being he gazes fondly down on me and we converse without need of seeing The third man is one whose genes I share but there out relationship ends His elusive uninvolved existence Still has shaped the gist of what I am Yet then there is my steady unshakable friend He encourages my growth and calms my fears This 'bus guy' has seen me at my best and worst His rational touch is reassuring through the past three years The last man is a ray of sunshine with his regal positive smile The distance lets us share much more than you would think His optimism and faith in life It's contagious and he's always in tune I know quite a few wise gentlemen who have graciously lent their guiding hands Special each in their own way I am blessed their paths crossed into my plans------------------ -K "...poetry is the subtle alchemy of a sensitive soul like hell it is poetry is what squeezes out of you when you've been squashed by Life, like a bug" ~Gooberz IP: Logged |

------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged | |
