He has eyes that,
when they look at me
freeze time in its clocks
and voices muffle away
in multi-conversationsal rooms
and me-prancing venues

They burrow in memory
They speak a sentence yet unspoken
They implore nudity (truth)

Feigning nonchalance,
I turn away,
return to see,
not for one flash second
have they distracted their integrity

(his fixed gaze ~ so profound,
is it hoping for my knighted fingertips
to close their tired lids,
as the reverant do the dead -- having died disturbingly open --
in respectful farewell
to the sleepless nightmare of daily vision?)

Or so I am moved to do.

I think they're hazel

but O, they're much
darker than that.

His mind is FIRE

His words inspire my suspended animation pen
in flurry 'til dawn

They re-erect that cradled, ambered world
of chain-smoke diners,
and now banned side-show attractions,
pulse in the vein of American backstreets,
Cavalier Adonis vagabonds
(derilect, yes, dirty, but never common)
who trodded to step out
after-Sunday-church-apathy,
praising 1950's bazooka simplicity
Vegas Silicone Valley Minds
have long forgotten.

And have I?

forgotten, that is?

As if Tao was once-and-for-all integrated

And, that's all she wrote

~ F L O W ~

As if the Universe sighed its final, weary, dying-star-breath

As quakes rumble in their resurrected aniticipation

"It's all cool."

Nothing one can do.

*shrug*

No, the Starling Night Birds forever beckoned

the Silver Midnight drew me out Nightly

in its Trance-Walk, Gazing upwards

for a cell outside my own

I never closed my Eyes

I never looked away,

though I might have flowed

pillow-haired into that

transient asylum dream

that Saved me

from the hungry dogs

next street over.
