Silence, finally
Thoughts shut off
So now I choose to write
Nothing….
Right.
No tiles weeping or
Mass-sweeping inner closets
No dust-bunnies to keep away
They are all sleeping today
They’ll come back, but they never stay
You know what’s back?
That light.
That close-bodied hug that aches
even when sated
that soul brightening love created
anew
I’m not so good at loving songs
Like most, I’d rather write the wrongs
So the feel fate right mate words are odd
Not rare
Just like they wandered through my fingers from my heart
to try to explain the art
that moves through relating
the ending, then the recreating
relationships are worth the waiting.
So today I read
that I’m supposed to express it in my bed
Apparently I’m hot, it said…
And they’re right
Who can argue with that star-filled logic
When my tummy tells me it urges and
surges,
emerges
from inside of me
I want me some divinity
Nothing better today, than love’s unity
I know people write about specifics
Cherry lips blossoming ripe fruit piano licks
But I want it all
Too provoking to deal with the explanations
The tedium of delicacies
delivered to your eyes with ease
it’s the words between the need and following
that make this pill worth all the swallowing
I could say I want,
But it’s too weak
I could say I love but
it’s too much to speak
so let’s just get acquainted with the feeling
as we try to silently touch the ceiling
and be thankful for the time it takes
to give and be and melt and make.
