*On the Corner of Nowhere*I sought the unforgiving light of the dawn,
Praying to burn my memories away.
But this pain is in vain.
Send me the rain.
We know a love in need is doomed indeed.
So, darling, don't try any longer.
Oh, what have we done?
I am already gone.
Passion and fights lost in the slotter.
Our bodies remain but our senses float.
Lost what we didn't earn.
You live and you learn.
*It was a sigh*
that daring sexual maneuver.
is this what they call being wooed?
or woe-d?
Don't cheat me:
Beauty is a common thing,
not a woman's paycheck,
and my virtue is not for sale.
Put down that pirate sword
and rebuckle those hopes.
I dont want goldfish promises
or firecracker passion.
So fly close, fresh darling,
and I'll take you to the Equator.
Promise me a spool of thread,
make my lips your Confessional,
and I may just give you my world.
*Prayer of Deliverance*
Clothe me in Continence,
so desire leads not
to Impotence.
I shall not be a slave to Pleasure,
Protecting my virtue from Invalidism.
Lighten my spirit with Liberality,
so Necessity exaggerates not
to Voracity.
I shall sober my Appetite,
Acknowledging the needs of Others.
Render me the gift of Temperance,
so Ownership alter not
to Avarice.
I shall share All with All,
Nurturing the spirits of Mankind.
Strengthen me with Spiritual Purpose,
so Quiescence deviate not
to Stagnation.
I shall not forget my Duties,
Serving both Myself and my Benefactors.
Sooth me to rest in Serenity,
so Vexations accumlate not
to Wrath.
I shall embrace my enemies in Forgiveness,
Unhanding them of their disgretions.
Remind me of my own Greatness,
so Aspirations displace not
to Jealousy.
I shall foster my strengths,
Appreciating the gift of mortality.
Surrender me to Humility,
so Dignity degrade not
to Arrogance.
I shall not neglect my weaknesses,
Remembering the delicacy of human nature.
Enrobe me in Clouds of Courage,
And Pray
That they carry me away from Desperation
to Deliverance.
