Surely there is a way to know
a way to tell
if it's my heaven or your hell.
I get tired of fighting ghosts
so with these words
I send them from our world.
If only it were so simple
as having a drink
and giving ourselves time to think.
But isn't that the goal
to continue
until there's nothing left of me or you?
To tear and rip at each other
until there's nothing here
except all of our fears.
Because that's all there is
you see,
don't you see?
We, you and I, carry nothing with us
but fear and a beaten heart
it's been that way from the start.
