This is from a lesson learned and is newly dedicated to artlovesdawn:

There was an aquarium in the doctor's office the other day. In it were all sorts of fish: convicts and goldfish, tetras and what-nots and they sang for me.

I listened to them, and learned that their song was of the world, of animal nature and I heard it echoing off the people around me; written on the pages of the book of Creation.

There was a small convict, a medium sized convict and a very large convict. These fish are predators, very territorial. And their daily life in that small tank is one of pursuit and escape.

They never seemed at peace, always fleeing from the larger or pursuing the smaller. Always chasing and snapping and fighting.

If a smaller convict came too close to a larger fish, it was as if the larger fish sensed it, and would suddenly turn and begin pursuit. Began to hunt.

There was always a reaction and so the smaller fish spent much of their time trapped, under a rock, or in some crack where the larger fish could not reach them.

What was interesting, though was the verse of their song that related to the docile, non-predatory fish.

These fish swam along without a care, eating in peace. And they could swim very close to the larger predatory fish and it would continue, unbothered by their presence.

Only occasionally would the constantly alert convicts turn to these docile fish and snap, and rather than swim away in fright, the docile fish would motion that they were not a threat, and with that, the convict would turn and continue swimming, hunting, defending its territory.

It was the running away that seemed to cue the larger convicts to the fact that a fish was to be chased.

It was the predators that ran from the larger predators, that reacted in a way that reflected their OWN intentions toward those that are smaller.

I thought to myself, how wonderful to be one of those docile fish.

How peaceful to swim freely where you would, without a care.

How completely liberating to put your head down when the predator calls and signal that you are not a threat, that you have no need to run because you feel no fear, only peace.

The Creation's book contains a story. It does not cease, it does not end. You may pick it up at any time and read it, the words will still be there, they do not go away.

Love to you all..

salam daf,

Lovely creativity as usual.

I do not have your email to respond to your invitation to write. More importantly, I cannot usually say with any certainty that I will have inspiration worth sharing.

So, please feel free to write to me at oriontriquetra@ yahoo.com and I will see if there is anything I can contribute to this friendship. Sometimes friends are silent, many Friends never share a word. It is not the quantity of words or the brevity of words, it is the connection the words, or silence, indicate.

So what happens when the Docile fish talks very much like the Convict? Mixed message I would say. Giving the peace signal whilst speaking and posturing aggressively in the territory of the Convict doesn't exactly send a clear message.

That's called bait A.G. It's for identifying where the egos and self assigned intellectual "heroes" are when coming back from a long absence.
(It's also entirely too much fun to resist. I'm a bad boy. Please don't spank me. I'm str8.)
Besides, did I ever claim to be a docile fish? (Lifts shirt..) You see these stripes? Yea...exactly. I'm just a guy, writing about how we should all aspire to do better.

So what's the deal? Did someone tell you I was supposed to come down in heavenly flowing robes and tell you your future in tea leaves or something pal?

You seem awful disappointed that I don't live up to my own expectations. That's for me and God to work out. You should worry about you..and your tendency to react. That's a big fat weakness. Trust me, I know. Anyhow. Good luck with that.

Oh..And my email address is, and always has been:

dafremen@gmail.com
dafremen@hotmail.com (Juuuunk mail!!!)
dafremen@yahoo.com (I rarely read this one.)

Please send all hate mail with some sort of Subject Line about my small weenie so it ends up in the correct box. Thanks

Oh...and juni, I love you sister! Look out of your window for me, please?

I'm glad for your edit acknowledging that you're not necessarily a "Docile" fish. The person who uses bait is a predator him/herself after all.

As far as hunting for intellectuals, is that really a difficult task? Don't the intellectuals make themselves very clear and apparent to any lesser intellect (you call "bait") that happens by? No one wants bad information or misinformation floating about do they? The intellectuals (or would-be intellectuals) come out to test a lot of the questionable ideas that are submitted for consumption making them quite easy to spot. A person acting as bait is unnecessary. Bait is everywhere all the time.

What's the deal with my impression of you? I'm letting you color my perception every step of the way. Prior to your arrival back at LindaLand I'd only heard about you from TINK as far as I recall, and she seems to be a fan of yours. I believe there was an allusion to your being part of some arguments in the past...and I think there was something about you deleting all of your posts or something. Having met you now I can believe quite easily that you've seen your share of debate.

I'm pretty certain your term "self-assigned intellectual" is more befitting of yourself than it is an accurate label for your detractors. A person who is an intellectual is not an intellectual through self-assignment. Instead an intellectual learns of their intellectual prowess through the positive responses they receive from their peers. I am correct in stating this, right?

Regarding my tendency to react, I think you're showing a marked lack of observation if that is truly what you believe to be the case. Astrologically I'm a Capricorn Sun (8th) with Saturn in the 1st opposite Mercury in the 7th. There is an enormous amount of discipline and constraint where my reactions are concerned. I believe in this instance as well that you may be projecting one of your qualities on to me, and perhaps the advice you gave is for your own consumption.

I think that's about it for points I feel compelled to make.

I can say thanks for spicing up LL for the moment. It's been really dull around here lately.

For clarification:

No one said hunting for intellectuals. You did. What it says is "bait for identifying egos and intellectual heroes."

I bait mouse traps but don't generally consider myself a mouse hunter and I have identified species of North American bird without needing to capture them. (I suppose by the strictest definition of the word..perhaps I am a hunter. I just throw the crumbs out and watch. Then when the people go Booga booga...I go booga booga back. If they smile, I smile. It's a simple formula)

I decided not to read anything else you wrote. Probably my loss..I know.

It didn't look like you'd been reading very carefully..and you didn't take any time to be entertaining.

I have a short attention span unless I'm reading interesting stuff, my stuff, fun stuff..or stuff that makes me feel good.

It's a common problem among me.

Anyhow, good luck.

Ok, this sucks.

My recent affiliation with the Super Friends and their Howard Johnson's with a Master Computer, the Hall of Justice, has made it necessary for me to at least TRY to give a nice, friendly Super Friends response to A.G.
(Frickin fracka Super Friend affiliation fricka frucka.. -.-)

Hmm..ok nice. Oh yea...and TINK is like..a sister..that person that beats you up when you f--- up to remind you not to f--- up. A fan she is not. Not a mistake to be made lightly. She collects (and uses?) medieval weapons, man. (Ok, I may have made that up.)

Dear Acoustic God,

We are all docile fish, taught to be predators by the predators that surround us during our indoctrination into this fun house. Certainly I am one of those convicts now, in many ways. A predator that perhaps fancies himself some sort of champion.

Like the Eco-Champion whose 4 Barrel Supercharged Hemi is fast enough to chase down ANY blatant polluters of our environment..these big boisterous noisy, discussions back and forth to defend our positions and the positions of others who we care for are an offense to our cause.

Look at Juni. She wins every time. No confrontation necessary. She's a hero, brother. Certainly more so than either of us.

I've met her personally, and she is just as fiery and concerned about things and people as either of us.

The difference is, she's learned how to use her energy properly, in order to reach her goals. Meanwhile..we're a couple of newbies.

There are others here. It doesn't take long to find them, gliding in and out of conversations with ease..never causing anyone offense..always smoothing over ruffled feathers.

You're right about the words being for my own use. That's how this works. Trust me, they will be used. This is not a new process to me, it's just a horribly difficult one that I prefer to avoid.

Finally, thank you for enjoying the show. That's what it's there for. Hopefully no one took any harm from any of this. None was intended.

Your brother,

daf

P.S. TINK.. How about a lovely Japanese fan with a hidden button that makes spikes pop out the top spines? If you WERE a fan..that would be the one. Otherwise, when sending hate emails, do remember the word "Viagra" in the subject line so that it gets routed correctly.

Just do what I did. Wait til she's on the phone, then snag one from her rock garden out along the walk by the porch.

I'm glad you decided to grace me with a response... and I'm sorry I don't write for entertainment's sake much.

I think that some people do ultimately throw off the predator training. There are some nice people in the world. Of course, thinking about it, predator training probably serves its own unique purpose as well.

Speaking of which, non-confrontation may not always be the best policy. People don't always jump into action on simple expectation alone. Non-violent peacelovers confront all the time. Of course gentle confrontation is preferable to most of us than aggressive confrontation.

Most of the people here who claim the loudest that they have the best intentions actually ruffle quite a lot of feathers.

Conversely, those who do waft in and out of conversations with tact and ease often do so because they simply don't know how to deal with scrutiny. They are fine with their words when they speak them, but then later time has passed and their minds have changed, and they no longer wish to deal what was said in the past. It's a very Mutable thing in my estimation. They prefer dealing with the present moment only, so they make no commitment to the conversation.

Who can say what is right (when it comes to how people should theoretically be)? We all have our place.

I believe in the power of love.

Unfortuneately, coal is culled from the bowels of the earth
more easily than love is mined from the cavernous hearts of men.

Well maybe for you, myself or ol A.G. over there. (You're right of course, it's very difficult. But in the end, it's a simple formula really.)

Watch our daughters, mothers and grandmothers. Watch those that nurture good will ,regardless of the logic of it. Notice how they are beloved by all. (That's survival practically guaranteed. Survival of the fittest..those that will advance our race.)

Our future..the docile fishies..

That's the winning strategy now that ANIMAL humans and INTELLECTUAL humans have dominated the Earth:

SPIRITUAL action; careful investment of energy at the appropriate time.

That's how to win in this new environment of predators and brains gone wild. It's a different environment, the old rules don't apply like they did anymore. It's all about energy now. And love is the most potent energy of all.

The power of love is amazing.
