I read this last night and thought it was very insightful in a glass half empty sort of way. Or an hourglass half empty sort of way. I didn't know how to say that I admired your insight but disagreed with the dark view when you were already aware of it yourself. I appreciate the glimpse into your mind. Many people and things that appear wondrous are often simply Earth, Air, Water, and Fire, in different combinations and actually are just... wondrous. But I can understand the disappointment of thinking you found a puppy dog and discovering upon closer inspection, a tiger, or thinking you found a tiger and then discovering it to be a puppy dog,
or some other combination of that sort.

But that doesn't take away from the wondrousness of the puppy or the tiger. It just means you will be better able to distinguish the two in the future.

And that is wondrous. :^D Right?

Maybe I just have issues with lizard symbology. I know lots of people who like lizards and enjoy keeping them in glass cages under heat lamps. I don't mind them... and have spent time petting them and allowing them to crawl about on my hand from time to time. But I would never let one roam about my home and it would be sad to keep it in a glass cage. And I admit, certain lizards can give me that creepy feeling.

So, this response isn't really appropriate either... but I can't fail to pay attention to this one. :^)

Off to ponder how certain creatures (like crickets for example) don't find lizards to be insignificant (tiny and pathetic) at all....

Your work reminds me that it is just as important not to shrink to appear less than you are as it is to puff up and appear more than you are... but I suppose that is the game of predator and prey.

And there are those with shot guns who see only a pathetic spiritless creature when they are taking aim... but that is simply their perspective, rather than the full Truth.

I guess that is what I am saying.
Although I often agree with everything you said. I'm thinking about my long ago ex here, and how empty he seems now, yet something was there. God was there. For whatever reason.
Maybe a wondrous reason.
Yes, a wondrous reason.

Pearlty, I am in the middle of a fab movie and I had a laundry break so I came to post it (the movie). I haven't given your response the thorough reading it deserves but I want you to know that my reaction to your art is only MY reaction to your art and has much more to do with me than with you, of course. Your writing is an extreme blessing because it fits with and adds to the meditations of my day and actually the last few days and what I'm writing here reminds me of something my musician friend told me about music and lyrics. He said that a good song has many meanings that fit to many situations and if it really is a good song, it has to have that "hook" that draws you in and makes you apply it to your own life.
Your piece here has that "hook".

And what's the use of flying if heaven is over-rated?

Now that song, has the hook. No doubt.

The kind of fear, that you feel when you got so close to the fire, but knew better to get burned and backed away...but as you think you did the right thing, they turn around and bite you in the A**...know what I mean??

Well, hopefully they are kind enough to bite you hard enough that you remember never to go back...

("I like the abuse" came to mind)
poking fun at myself (and some others I'm thinking of), and not at you...
I just like this song in general, and a guy sings this at karaoke. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6-qfETaNAU

I hope you don't mind all of these comments, hehe, I guess your art inspired a lot of interaction from me.
