Yeah, I listen at work often. Sometimes it does pull out some bizarre stuff, particularluy if you add music to a station you've already got going. I guess that's what I get for throwing in a few obscure bands (whose contemporaries I would know nothing about).IP: Logged |

now playing:U.S. Blues - Grateful Dead Red and white, blue suede shoes, I'm Uncle Sam, how do you do? Gimme five, I'm still alive, ain't no luck, I learned to duck. Check my pulse, it don't change. Stay seventy-two come shine or rain. Wave the flag, pop the bag, rock the boat, skin the goat. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my. I'm Uncle Sam, that's who I am; Been hidin' out in a rock and roll band. Shake the hand that shook the hand of P.T. Barnum and Charlie Chan. Shine your shoes, light your fuse. Can you use them ol' U.S. Blues? I'll drink your health, share your wealth, run your life, steal your wife. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my. Back to back chicken shack. Son of a gun, better change your act. We're all confused, what's to lose? You can call this song, the United States Blues. Wave that flag, wave it wide and high. Summertime done, come and gone, my, oh, my. IP: Logged |

Radiohead on 'Bob Dylan Radio' ???good one. Two jumps in a week, I bet you think that's pretty clever don't you boy. Flying on your motorcycle, watching all the ground beneath you drop. You'd kill yourself for recognition; kill yourself to never ever stop. You broke another mirror; you're turning into something you are not. Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Drying up in conversation, you will be the one who cannot talk. All your insides fall to pieces, you just sit there wishing you could still make love They're the ones who'll hate you when you think you've got the world all sussed out They're the ones who'll spit at you. You will be the one screaming out. Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry It's the best thing that you've ever had, the best thing that you've ever, ever had. It's the best thing that you've ever had; the best thing you've had has gone away. Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

this one is new to me! Beautiful and my brother's (and fathers's) name! Frank's Song Lyrics » Tom Waits That woman will take you, that woman will break you That woman will make you something you've never seen That woman's got claws, that woman's got laws Now look out man, you're gonna loose your mind I had a friend, his name was Frank He walked on the water and lord he sank We used to go stag, now he's got a hag It looks like Frank's got a new bag That woman will take you, that woman will break you That woman will make you something you've never seen That woman's got claws, that woman's got laws Now look out Frank, you're gonna loose your mind What happened to Frank, can happen to you Just find you a woman and watch what she'll do That woman will take you, that woman's gonna break you Look out man you're gonna loose, you're gonna loose your mind IP: Logged |

K...what's with the 'frank songs', Pandora? Theyre making me sad.I'll take it as a message. Highway Patrolman - Bruce Springsteen My name's Joe Roberts I work for the state I'm a sergeant out of Perrineville barracks number 8 I always done an honest job as honest as I could I got a brother named Frankie, and Frankie ain't no good Now ever since we was young kids it's been the same come down I get a call on shortwave Frankie's in trouble downtown Well if it was any other man, I'd put him straight away But when it's your brother sometimes you look the other way Me and Franky laughin' and drinkin' Nothin' feels better than blood on blood Takin' turns dancin' with Maria as the band played "Night of the Johnstown Flood" I catch him when he's strayin' like any brother would Man turns his back on his family he just ain't no good Well Frankie went in the army back in 1965 I got a farm deferment, settled down, took Maria for my wife But them wheat prices kept on droppin' Till it was like we were gettin' robbed Frankie came home in '68, and me, I took this job Yea, me and Frankie laughin' and drinkin' Nothin' feels better than blood on blood Takin' turns dancin' with Maria as the band played "Night of the Johnstown Flood" I catch him when he's strayin' like any brother would Man turns his back on his family he just ain't no good Well the night was like any other, I got a call 'bout quarter to nine There was trouble in a roadhouse out on the Michigan line There was a kid lyin' on the floor lookin' bad bleedin' hard from his head Was a girl cryin' at a table and it was Frank, they said Well I went out and I jumped in my car and I hit the lights I must've done a hundred and ten through Michigan county that night It was out at the crossroads, down round Willow bank Seen a Buick with Ohio plates behind the wheel was Frank Well I chased him through those county roads till a sign said Canadian border five miles from here Pulled over the side of the highway And watched his tail lights disappear Me and Frankie laughin' and drinkin' Nothin' feels better than blood on blood Takin' turns dancin' with Maria as the band played "Night of the Johnstown Flood" I catch him when he's strayin' like any brother would Man turns his back on his family he just ain't no good IP: Logged |

May you never lay your head down without a hand to hold. May you never make your bed out in the cold. May you never lose your temper if you get hit in a barroom fight. May you never lose your woman overnight.Well, youre just like a great, strong sister to me, And I know that your love is true, And you hold no blade for to stab me in my back; I know that theres some that do. So please, wont you please, wont you bear it in mind: Love is a lesson to learn in our time. Please, wont you please, bear it in mind for me. Chorus Well, youre just like a great, strong brother to me, And I know that your love is true, And you never talk dirty behind my back; I know that theres some that do. So please, wont you please, wont you bear it in mind: Love is a lesson to learn in our time. Please, wont you please, bear it in mind for me. Chorus May you never lose your woman overnight. May you never lose your woman overnight. Clapton IP: Logged |

Song For Bob Dyaln by David BowieOh, hear this Robert Zimmerman I wrote a song for you About a strange young man called Dylan With a voice like sand and glue His words of truthful vengeance They could pin us to the floor Brought a few more people on And put the fear in a whole lot more Ah, Here she comes Here she comes Here she comes again The same old painted lady From the brow of a superbrain She'll scratch this world to pieces As she comes on like a friend But a couple of songs From your old scrapbook Could send her home again You gave your heart to every bedsit room At least a picture on my wall And you sat behind a million pair of eyes And told them how they saw Then we lost your train of thought The paintings are all your own While troubles are rising We'd rather be scared Together than alone Ah, Here she comes...[etc.] Now hear this Robert Zimmerman Though I don't suppose we'll meet Ask your good friend Dylan If he'd gaze a while down the old street Tell him we've lost his poems So they're writing on the walls Give us back our unity Give us back our family You're every nation's refugee Don't leave us with their sanity Ah, Here she comes....[etc.] _______________________________________ Heall yeah.

*bop, bop, boppin' head*Watchin The River Flow - Dylan What's the matter with me, I don't have much to say, Daylight sneakin' through the window And I'm still in this all-night cafe. Walkin' to and fro beneath the moon Out to where the trucks are rollin' slow, To sit down on this bank of sand And watch the river flow. Wish I was back in the city Instead of this old bank of sand, With the sun beating down over the chimney tops And the one I love so close at hand. If I had wings and I could fly, I know where I would go. But right now I'll just sit here so contentedly And watch the river flow. People disagreeing on all just about everything, yeah, Makes you stop and all wonder why. Why only yesterday I saw somebody on the street Who just couldn't help but cry. Oh, this ol' river keeps on rollin', though, No matter what gets in the way and which way the wind does blow, And as long as it does I'll just sit here And watch the river flow. People disagreeing everywhere you look, Makes you wanna stop and read a book. Why only yesterday I saw somebody on the street That was really shook. But this ol' river keeps on rollin', though, No matter what gets in the way and which way the wind does blow, And as long as it does I'll just sit here And watch the river flow. Watch the river flow, Watchin' the river flow, Watchin' the river flow, But I'll sit down on this bank of sand And watch the river flow.

That was weird about your brother's name coming up.This just got done playing on mine: I Am A Rock by Paul Simon A winters day In a deep and dark december; I am alone, Gazing from my window to the streets below On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow. I am a rock, I am an island. Ive built walls, A fortress deep and mighty, That none may penetrate. I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain. Its laughter and its loving I disdain. I am a rock, I am an island. Dont talk of love, But Ive heard the words before; Its sleeping in my memory. I wont disturb the slumber of feelings that have died. If I never loved I never would have cried. I am a rock, I am an island. I have my books And my poetry to protect me; I am shielded in my armor, Hiding in my room, safe within my womb. I touch no one and no one touches me. I am a rock, I am an island. And a rock feels no pain; And an island never cries. IP: Logged |

And now:I Want To Live by John Denver There are children raised in sorrow On a scorched and barren plain There are children raised beneath a golden sun There are children of the water Children of the sand And they cry out through the universe Their voices raised as one I want to live I want to grow I want to see I want to know I want to share what I can give I want to be I want to live Have you gazed out on the ocean Seen the breaching of a whale? Have you watched the dolphins frolic in the foam? Have you heard the song the humpback hears five hundred miles away Telling tales of ancient history of passages and home? I want to live I want to grow I want to see I want to know I want to share what I can give I want to be I want to live For the worker and the warrior the lover and the liar For the native and the wanderer in kind For the maker and the user and the mother and her son I am looking for my family and all of you are mine We are standing all together Face to face and arm in arm We are standing on the threshold of a dream No more hunger no more killing No more wasting life away It is simply an idea And I know its time has come I want to live I want to grow I want to see I want to know I want to share what I can give I want to be I want to live ______________ Same Sun and Ascendant as me, but opposite Moon sign. Smoke On The Water - Deep PurpleWe all came out to montreux On the lake geneva shoreline To make records with a mobile We didnt have much time Frank zappa and the mothers Were at the best place around But some stupid with a flare gun Burned the place to the ground Smoke on the water, fire in the sky They burned down the gambling house It died with an awful sound Funky claude was running in and out Pulling kids out the ground When it all was over We had to find another place But swiss time was running out It seemed that we would lose the race Smoke on the water, fire in the sky We ended up at the grand hotel It was empty cold and bare But with the rolling truck stones thing just outside Making our music there With a few red lights and a few old beds We make a place to sweat No matter what we get out of this I know well never forget Smoke on the water, fire in the sky IP: Logged |

make me miss my friends...Us and Them - Pink Floyd And after all we're only ordinary men Me, and you God only knows it's not what we would choose to do Forward he cried from the rear and the front rank died And the General sat, as the lines on the map moved from side to side Black and Blue And who knows which is which and who is who Up and Down And in the end it's only round and round and round Haven't you heard it's a battle of words the poster bearer cried Listen son, said the man with the gun There's room for you inside Down and Out It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about With, without And who'll deny that's what the fightings all about Get out of the way, it's a busy day And I've got things on my mind For want of the price of tea and a slice The old man died IP: Logged | |
