One day...I would like to open my mouth and the right words actually come out
one day.... I would like to talk from my heart and not my objective trained mind that thinks too much
One day...I would like to have no expectation and no dissappiontment
One day......I would like to be closer than skin with a lover and not have to back away becasue it hurts to love so much
One day....I would like to walk in feilds of high grass while I am supposed to be at work and feel dirt between my toes and not care
One day...I would like to lay in my bed all day and read poetry and eat shrimp right there in bed and not even get up
One day...
but as usual..not today...today I will say the wrong things...today I can only take real closness in medium size doses...today I will eat noodles at my desk and wish I was playing my guitar or writing a song.......today I will do the mundane tasks required and sit and know in the back of my mind that one day...I will do the other..and say the right things and run through a field and write a song..and eat shrimp and cream cheese in bed and read poetry all day.

oh yes I had my day
took some time out Saturday

toes in the sand
thru sprinklers I ran

then sunday stayed in bed all day
ate in bed and there I stayed

lover closer than my skin
saying everything I had within

this weekend I did it
yes indeed I admit it

Toes in the sand
lover in hand

in bed all day
in a field I did play

It was everything I wanted to do
my soul refreshed now for a few

days of mundane tasks take shape
but now my mind has a place to escape

and my body is sore
for loving him more

than I ever imagined
the closeness was heaven

oh lucky me.... oh lucky me
