How absolutely beautiful...I love the colors you chose...and the woman's expression is lovely in a mildly timid way..

It's wonderful..

wow

the eye or eye area is so large... and the hair almost wicked. it's so powerful and perfect. it's like her heart chakra is leaking out or her heart is broken... but it's kind of in the shape of a bird too. and the nakedness is this soft innocent pinkish color but up by the head all the black and fierce. and some of the black is creeping downward.
she looks haunted
and that one eye is covered and the other is looking away seems important too

you are an artist, T. ♥

I asked Rosie what she thought the girl in the painting was feeling and she said, "nervous", which I think is very perceptive and demonstrates how much the painting conveys.

Thank you both so much for you comments. I really appreciate them as I don't have anyone else to bounce these things off of, so it's nice to hear what other people pick up on. It's so easy to get lost in something you work so many hours on and lose track of what it may actuallly look like... ? There are a few things that are bothering me in this one and I'm thinking of touching them up, but for now I'm working on something else. I have to let this one go for a bit.

I can definitely see what you both described too. To me there's a 'push-pull' feeling here; some tension. She's soft, innocent, in a somewhat timid stance; and fierce, nervous at at the same time, for sure.
Thank you for commenting.

I appreciate Rosie's comment, too, Mel. Interesting to hear what a young one with fresh eyes catches in something.
Very perceptive of her.

Very good stuff!

I love the hair in the first one. I can see the fish HSC references, but it also looks like a hummingbird heading straight up. I'm not real comfortable with the nudity. Maybe because the character doesn't look real comfortable with the nudity either.

The latest is cool. The hummingbird's back. Great pose. Great face and hair. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the circle.

Thank AG!

You are right about the hummingbird in the first one. I know, the more and more I look at her, the more uncomfortable she seems....i get this feeling of wondering, 'is she nice? or does she bite?'
...she is what she is.

The circle in the second one is there to give the hint of an earring and also where the bird was going to be perched until I decided to make him in flight. Also it represents a halo around the divine little messenger. Lastly, it needed to be brought out in the colors I chose to anchor and give weight to that area. Achieving balance in this one was a little tricky.

As you know, I love hummingbirds. This painting echoes an experience i had with one a couple of years ago while outside reading some words by Jesus. This was the first (and only!) time I had ever seen one in real life and it took my breath away. Time stood still. I was going through a hard time and felt like it was a message to me from Him. I think this painting conveys summertime, which was when it happened. I also love dandelions and try to squeeze them into paintings if they fit. I would not say the female is me, but gets across the experience or memory.

oh, so the humming bird in the throat is rising from the wounded heart...

and the next one... the dandelions... and the hummingbird is suckling from her... a flower dreaming of the summer in the midst of winter

yes, the quote reminded me of you immediately, so much, and what you always teach

"To know is nothing at all;
to imagine is everything."

~Anatole France Thibault

I'll be keeping the soaps in there until they become dusty and beg to be used... and then will be keeping the treasure box until it falls apart... probably on a bookshelf with stones and crystals tucked inside. ♥

The Friendship ball came in a treasure box too... that my treasures will love. I think the ball has to hang in the Light. ♥ It will bring me joy over and over.

"Can I tell Tara something?"

"Yeaaah."

"I want to say thank you, Tara, for that little kitty book! I liked it."

"It's a calendar." (I say)

"Yeah, the kitty calendar. I really liked that kitty calendar. I LOVE you, Tara."

(little jumps and happy noise as she sees the word "love" typed)

"And I wanted to say to Tara that, I just LOVE kitties."

(giggles as she sees the word again and knows I'm typing what she says even though I'm not saying anything)

"Because kitties are cute!"

(I just got a hug and told that I'm "the bestest Mom ever, Mommy".)

Love and blessings <3

I'm watching all of the Indiana Jones movies today and drinking lots of fluids. <3

thanx future,

Rosie is soooo cute!

Tell her a little birdie told me she likes kittens and I saw that and knew she'd love it. I love her and you too!!!

Yeah, it looks like the hummingbird in the last one is suckling from a flower, giving her a kiss or perhaps whispering a secret in her ear. Whichever you choose.
