Don't let me turn into another one of these old Biddies Caged and panting wobbling around in red stilettos & too tight leopard print bras In worse off positions than when they were sixteen WIth bored husbands staring out windows wondering what happenedIP: Logged |

Randall, no, i saw that show once though, and thought: 'People actually enjoy watching this?'. Someone I know is obsessed with it. I thought the acting was horrible and then, of course, everything else about it.There's more to the poem, in my mind anyway, but it's probably best left this way. Valus, i'd never heard of him, thanx. That song is certainly fitting as one of the husbands in the poem's Swan Song. thanks charmainec. IP: Logged |

Vic is a true poet of a songwriter. He has a beautiful underground following. I think some of his lyrics are in our favorite lyrics thread, from way back. That song meant a lot to Lisa (Lia) when she was going through her divorce.

Betty Lonely - vic chesnutt Betty Lonely Lives in a duplex of stucco On the north bank of a brackish river Her ears omit the noise from a nearby airstrip Her mind floats beyond the snapper boats
Betty lonely Her eyes are roughly staring At a point through her sliding glass door Her heart lives over a drawbridge Her brain is wet like a thrownet Betty lonely She will always think in spanish Though i know Her spanish black hair will start to fade She sunk her past Out in the surrounding salt flats Her maidenhood was lost Beneath the spanish moss Betty lonely Just talks to her grandbaby Everybody else she blots them out But her words stick Like a flounder gig Her dry laugh is like a gaff IP: Logged |

I'm beginning to think I'll be lucky if that's me in 15 years. It's either that or crazy cat lady at this point. :Z grrr I'm about at the point where I'd sell my soul for sex, massages, and healthy meals cooked by someone other than me. Sunchild said she was eating bananas and grapes so I'll adopt that diet and that might stave off the soul selling for a few weeks.IP: Logged |

bananas, grapes, AND berries I've decided. (and coffee shhhhh) The cat lady thing was a passing "poor me" emotion, I'm over it, T. Just pat my head and smile when I'm not looking when I do that. No, nevermind, I need the sympathy comment to know someone out there cares if I become the crazy cat lady. Need to know someone will notice I'm gone before the cats begin eating the face off my corpse. Everybody needs that little bit of reassurance, right? (I think stilettos rock though, for the record!!!!! Not that I do the real thing, but close enough is always fun. Luuuuuuv shoes. My thrift store and garage sale "recycling" has my shoe collection looking FAB-UUUUU-LOUS) dark humor... 8th house? IP: Logged |

You're welcome. I'd probably suck an egg before I'd watch "Desperate Housewives".. But, then, I have a few guilty pleasures of my own. For one thing, I like to suck eggs. Is that bad?

Hi T,Can you tell me about prepping a canvas for painting sometime? I was recently in an art and framing shop, and I was quite surprised to see they sold art equipment as well. It got me thinking about doing art. Currently, I'm decorating my room, and I think a painting from my own hand might be in order. I looked at the supplies, and had to wonder if it was something I could just jump into, or if that would inevitably be disastrous. IP: Logged |

...................... ...........*ahem* Yes... a little bit of what he said and the rest, I will be happy to help you out with when I get back home after running some errands. I think that's a fantastic idea AG. Do you have any subjects of what you'd like to paint or styles in mind? Yes! I definitely think it's something you can jump into and might find you'd like to do it more often! I hope you'll show us the finished piece too. Will be back in a few hours! IP: Logged |
