Those are gorgeous! I especially liked the one with the flowers. I hope this thread is around long enough for me to get to add to it. My scanner is in a (box?) somewhere, since I've recently moved. And of course, I haven't found it yet.IP: Logged |

take a picture of the picture, Gypsee T, it is so cool to see one you just started after seeing more complete sketches and with color etc. It helps to see your process! Exceptional as always! IP: Logged |

I started a drawing at work today, just for this thread. I forgot it at work, of course. I got stuck at the end for what to use as part of my intended picture. Now I just thought of another idea that I really like a lot. I wonder if I can pull it off. IP: Logged |

T You are a truly amazing artist, you know? I'm not kidding! You've got talent for sure, and I admire your skills. Thank you for sharing such beauty with us here at LL. Thank you for sharing the goodness in life- such as your paintings and sketches with us! You shine with such healing light! Carry on! D ------------------ The opposite of love is indeed hate, not indifference- for indifference is a form of detachment, and both love and hate are two forms of attachment, and detachment is naturally the opposite of attachment. Within the department of attachment, however, love and hate are each other's polar opposite, though oftentimes there is a fine line between the two and though many have experienced feelings mixed with both love and hate and the hate that has once been love. There are many theories of the relationships between love and hate, but ultimately, hate is death force, which destroys, and hence leads to untimely or chronic destruction; whereas love is life force, which nurtures, and creates life- life that stems from love, full of love- true life. hi T! thought you'd gone on a retreat! glad to see you've been practicing what you excel at...these are smashing, you may not be "comfortable" with it yet but you are gifted. unlike myself!though i HAVE done some drawing from time to time it is painstaking work for me and i seldom have the time to indulge. i am better at scenes than figures....let alone post it! can't even transfer my chart or photos here yet! yes, you read write, I am a cursed/blessed sag. with an aries asc, and a libra moon that God gave me so I don't go around killing people. lol. K, I borrowed my daughters digital for the night. I'm guna try and take the pics of the drawings and of myself! too! and see what happens. I am in the same boat with poor Katatonic up there. No idea how to post charts n stuff. I've read and re-read AG's patient discription of how to do it, and still, no. So if anyone would like to come over and fix me up, that would be great. Then when I know, I'll go help Kat. haha. Wouldn't it be great if the world worked that way!!!!!IP: Logged |

For posting anything special on this forum, you start it and end it with a code in brackets [ ]. For an image, you do . It will look like this: The other ones are: b and /b inside brackets for bold i and /i inside brackets for italics list and /list inside brackets for indented text * inside brackets for bullet For bold, italics, and lists, you do a start code and an end code. The end code always has the slash (/)to tell the program to turn off that function. (Hit the edit button on my post to see the code that made the preceding text bold. Don't worry. You can't actually modify my post.) Creating links is a little more difficult, but once you grasp the above, we can move on to that. For straightforward links, just post the internet address. It's just when you want to link your typed text to an internet address that gets tricky. IP: Logged |

T, you said: quote: And it's sort of a blessing I dont have internet at home anymore.
T, I can certainly imagine how liberated I would be, as I have been for the past couple of years- to not have the Internet access at home- otherwise I would be vitually house bound! Exactly because I have no Internet at home, I need to get outside, come to the med school library, or at times, the cyber cafe, for getting online. May I ask you a question, T? Where do you use the Internet now? I'm just curious. quote: Just been battling severe depression and things of that nature; the usual.
I am shocked to hear that, T! Severe depression? I didn't realize things had been so rough for you, T. Were you referring to severe blues, or clinical depression? Would you like to share with us? I don't mean to be nosy; forgive my blunt speech. I care about you a lot, T. I hope you will get better, and no more bouts of depression- you know how awful it is D ------------------ The opposite of love is indeed hate, not indifference- for indifference is a form of detachment, and both love and hate are two forms of attachment, and detachment is naturally the opposite of attachment. Yes, me too. You are not alone. Reach out, that is the best advice I know. I've been down so low, I would not eat if someone did not come by to feed me. There is no shame in that which we cannot control.IP: Logged |

Here's my drawing from work yesterday: It's not intentionally on a diagonal. I think I just drew it diagonally, and then folded the paper squarely (perpendicular) to the natural edges. I was aiming to make a face out of it with the tree being the nose, eyebrows, and brain. You can see I started to make teeth of rocks. I didn't fully work that out. I got stuck on what to insert for eyes. I was thinking maybe barns, but I don't know. IP: Logged |

That's really good AG! I love your idea too. You achieved a nice sense of balance (even though it's at an angle) What about birds in flight for the eyes? Or openings in clouds....which might also work well with the brain. Well done. IP: Logged |

Heh heh I figured it out. AG is good at this, but, um, how to get it from being POSTER sized? I put my pic into the Know Two forum to try it out, before I attempted any artwork on this forum, and um, yeah, you can probably see my dental work if you look close enough. Yikes!!! That's scary!IP: Logged |

Hey Gypsee, If you're using Photobucket, they have resizing tools you should be able to find there. That will help you reduce the size. There's a setting when you're importing photos on that site that also sets the size in advance. That setting is right under where you choose the photo to upload. IP: Logged |

Hey, T!Sorry to hear about the bouts. Even though you're one of the wisest and most enduring souls I've ever met, it still doesn't take away the serious pain caused by depression. I send you my warmest thoughts. I like the thread you started. All I can share atm is this drawing I made for one of my classes last semester. I decided to use Raphael's St. Michael for my final and this was the drawing I made for the painting. I stopped painting it halfway and used photoshop to come up with this for a different class: I also finished painting it for the final. I love your pen and ink works. They've inspired me to make some of my own. I might share them here if I ever get around to it. Take care. IP: Logged |
