I stumbled across an old poem of mine I'd like to share:02/23/2008 To be a woman is to be a walking contradiction,
Ever cautious and conscious of what to say and do.
If I am eager to marry,
I'm pushy and aggressive.
If I refuse to marry,
I'm some man-hating witch.
If I refrain from sex until marriage,
I'm a prude and a tease.
If I indulge in sex before marriage,
I've cheapened my image/reputation.
If I enjoy sexual pleasure,
I'm a sex-crazed nympho.
If I disdain sexual satisfaction,
I'm frigid and unresponsive.
If I move in with the man I love,
I relinquish any and all courtship.
If I wait patiently at my parent's house for his proposal,
I'm putting all control of our future in his hands.
If I pursue a man I care for,
I'm trying to trap him.
If I let the man make the first move,
I'm too shy and old-fashioned.
If I know what I want in life,
I'm too strong for most men to handle.
If I center my life wholly around others' desires,
I'm no more than a glorified doormat. IP: Logged |

Yeah that is too often how it is perceived by many  ------------------
