I came across this blog post the other day, and it's worth sharing: http://www.austinkleon.com/2011/03/30/how-to-steal-like-an-artist-and-9-other-things-nobody-told-me/ I've even temporarily made it one of my homepage tabs so I'll remember to look at it a few times and really absorb the messages. phone call is over.Anyway, yeah! I love this....like thieves in the night! That's what we do! Just read a part that reminded me of a Bob Dylan lyric "She's a hypnotist collecter you are a walking antique"
okay, going back to finish IP: Logged |

Everyone should read the words at that link. Thanks AG IP: Logged |

& this part: quote: That whole romantic image of the bohemian artist doing drugs and running around and sleeping with everyone is played out. It’s for the superhuman and the people who want to die young. The thing is: art takes a lot of energy to make. You don’t have that energy if you waste it on other stuff.

I found an old one on craigslist that I wanted really badly, an old school big one with a thick heavy top, but instead went with one from Michael's because I had a 40% off coupon. I got one from there before that seemed bigger. This one is pretty much the same except it also comes with some drawers attached to the side of it. Does it's job and is sturdy enough. One of my friends (guy i worked with at one of the shops) had a cool one that I thought about looking for myself. I remember he said he got it on EBay - it had a glass top. Which is great because if you wanted to use it as a light-table (something we used alot) you could. Just place a strong spotlight underneath it. I'm almost wishing I went with that one now, because it looked really nice too. Let me know what you get. ) IP: Logged |

The glass one sounds like the Futura one I've been seeing around. I also thought it might be good for that reason.IP: Logged |

I got an email from Michael's this morning saying 50% off your entire purchase this Friday. Tempting.Hmmm... I just read it, and the subject says that, but the coupon is for 50% off one single thing. There's also one for 30% off the entire purchase for Saturday. IP: Logged |

Cool!Yeah, at half off, it's a steal! When I got mine, I lucked out also because it was the last one. They give out some really good coupons and yes, usually you can use them on anything (if it's not already on sale, obviously) even expensive items. I think they usually exclude using the coupons in the framing department too. If you get it, hopefully you have an easier time putting it together than i did. Had to have someone else do it. edited 4/21 to add... . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ATTN AG!!! Apparently I am able to edit post, even though I've been banned. All I want to say is thank you for what youve said in the thread you started that got moved to GU. I can't find your e-addy, so I am thanking you here. I hope you see it. I appreciate the things youve pointed out and said & the time and energy you put into it. Though i know it wasnt all for me and you were simply speaking out about injustices you see here as well. Youre a great guy all the best to you. . . . . . . . . .
cute, eye catching pic side note: for the record, when I have left in the past, I did so quietly usually. And it hasnt been 300 times!! . . . . .also Randall, I'm requesting you unregister me, rather than just a Ban. I requested it once before and you wouldnt do it. You have done so when others requested, so kindly do the same for me.
Now i'm out for good.

Yeah, I caught that. :-|So tonight Michael's emailed a retraction. I did email them this morning about it. They clarified their mistake. I will always strive to be more artful. Don't be a stranger. They can do nothing that they won't be judged for. IP: Logged |
