Even though we aren’t part of each others’ lives anymore,
you still pop into my head at the most peculiar of times.

I think about all the things I wish I could share with you
like that bright star I could see tonight,
or the marvelous painting that I bought from a homeless man,
all the secrets of the universe that I am slowly unlocking,

and how I feel every time I hear that song.
How does it go again?

“What good is it to live,
with nothing left to give,
forget but not forgive,
not loving all you see”

It seems almost like forever since I’ve had the chance
to make you laugh
or see your eyes twinkle
when I whip out my occasional pearls of wisdom.

Its plain for all to see
how you and I complete we.
And I wonder how long it will be
until we can admit to the world
(or even to just you and me?)
that sometimes things are exactly what they seem.

The spasmodic control

his eyes pleaded me
