A twinkling chord can bind us
though we know not why it's strung
The tie between two souls
a magical melody sung
You cannot see the purpose
the heart hates rigid rules
The story you weave together
untainted in its fuel
There's more to life than romance
though at first it's hard to discern
Time is the only measure
where levels of affection are learned
The physical body is but a mask
Affection delves deeper than lust
Brilliant gems of wisdom await
If your spirits can commune in trust
The shiniest of treasures
rich and lasting, tried and true
As you don the jewels of friendship
Ardent empathy's kindled anew------------------

Love it!Just one thing, can you elaborate on this part for me? Time is the only measure
where levels of affection are learned You mean...you test out affection by seeing how long it lasts?
