an epitaphOnce it was lost it was nowhere to be found We all went everywhere round and round With eyes agape to drink a drop of any vision, Ears strained to plunge onto any sound We set the dog free to dig and search He is one extremely capable hound His eyes shine bright in the death of night He has calf muscles strong and a fur browned Who sniffed and went to far corners of the place Moved plenty of earth, dug up every mound Like a lock looking for a key in her own womb We looked for it in the entire compound We looked everywhere for that clean coat of fur That surely had gotten itself drunk on the junk, Spent the evening lost with evil strays, Drinking of dead waters of its own blue funk We wanted to bring her home one last time To honour her and bury her in the ground, But I guess our cat she didn’t want a burial, Only to be left alone, be forgotten and drowned IP: Logged |
