I like the abstract shapes in the top right-hand corner of the last one. They remind me of juice squirting from an orange slice and give the painting and even more energetic or 'alive' fresh feel... an idea of energy, or movement is conveyed....like someone just squeezed the orange. That addition really brings it to life and adds some great visual interest to the painting, imo. It's fun and happy. Can't wait to see the rest of it. Youve got vision AG. IP: Logged |

Thanks. I think it's almost ready. Wife kind of thinks it's done, but I had planned more. I still want to get a few more details in.I like the red in the small one I posted first better than I do in the big one. I'm not sure I should have done that swirl in the middle top. The inspiration actually came from a series of art works my wife liked. I incorporated some of them into the piece. Part of the what I had been planning to add were in some of the art works I didn't incorporate. I also kind of want to follow this painting up with what I envisioned my wife wanting when she first suggested the painting, which is far different, and probably more ordered like a Capricorn would do. (The sperm was my wife's idea since we're trying to have a baby.) If I were treating this as another draft, I think the next one would be better. Maybe all the red come from the direction of the orange. I never got real clear in my mind what I was trying to do with the red. IP: Logged |

I love that. She's so smart. It reminds me of feng shui. I think I remember a long time ago watching something about decorating a couple's bedroom with things in pairs, for a long lasting partnership or to bring a partner into your life. Like....a painting with two flower or trees, or two shapes that stand out in some way. Two candles, vases next to each other....generally coupling decorations or pairing them up next to each other, or focussing on art that involved a pairing of some sort... I just did a quick search on this but didnt turn anything up. Your painting does that with the two circle shapes, plus adding the sperm to the 'egg' won't hurt a bit. The painting will add great energy to your baby-making plans. All the best AG. IP: Logged |

Thanks T.My wife actually subscribed to that theory you heard. (She likes feng shui a lot.) She stopped having artwork up of single women, and started pairing up whatever things she could find. We even have female gnomes to that end. We've also done "100 circles" artwork (I guess it's a Chinese cultural thing) to try to inspire babies, and put a picture of a baby in a round metal frame, which is supposed to bring luck. At our old place, there was always a picture of a fair-haired baby on our fridge. We had a logo for the wedding that was our initials followed by a '2' (JH2), because we have the same initials, and sometimes she thinks that was a bad idea, because it might somehow sabotage our third. How sweet that you two are hoping to have a baby. I thought I would share some info with you about fertility....After I had my first child, I tried to get pregnant again from the time he turned one. It wasn't happening. Over a year later, my husband and I decided to do a 7 day detox fast. I got pregnant two weeks later and have been TOO fertile ever since (we only meant to have three children but oops! We have five! That's okay, I love them.) Since then I have always been curious about the connection between fasting and fertility; I saw a brief mention of it in one of my health encyclopedias, and I saw it mentioned incidentally here and there. Though I just did a Google search for fasting and fertility, and I'm seeing plenty of new links. You might want to check that out. For instance, just found this: quote:
According to Harvard Medical School, female mice eating a diet supplying 40-percent fewer calories released fewer abnormal eggs. The abnormalities don’t physically decrease the number of eggs available for fertilization, but it may reduce the number of viable pregnancies. For instance, if abnormality rates are higher, fewer fertilized eggs will be carried to term essentially increasing the number of miscarriages. In humans, these same abnormalities are associated with the aging female reproductive system. With age comes increased risk of miscarriage and birth defects. So, researchers put the two together and theorize that fasting in women could reduce the number of abnormal chromosomes and increase the number of viable pregnancies later in life. Researchers also noted that reducing calories caused an increase in the number of eggs produced during fertility treatments in the female mice. If this effect translates to the human female, it could mean more eggs during the harvest stage of fertility treatments and thus increase the chance of conception via those treatments.
Link And this: quote: Ramadhan fast did not have any adverse effect on the fertility of healthy men. In fact there were some suggestions that fasting improves the total sperm count, the gonadotrophic hormone levels, and the testosterone level in fertile males. Fasting does not either improve or decrease the seminal quality of azoospermics but may have some effect on oligozoospermics. There was a beneficial effect of the Ramadhan fast on spermatogenesis, either via the hypothalamo-pituitary-testicular axis or by a direct effect on the testis.
Link Last month I did the Master Cleanse and bought a book about it. The book gives several testimonials of women who were struggling to conceive, did the fast, and soon got pregnant. Fasting causes your body to kind of digest itself, breaking down obstructions in the pathways, causing flow where you need it. I hope you will pardon the unsolicited advice but I remember how upsetting it was, struggling to conceive, and how elated I was when I overcame it...and I wish for everyone to have that happiness. Best wishes to you and your wife. By the way, I can't believe you are JH and not AG. *head spins* IP: Logged |

We just moved to AG(ricultural) country, too. There's an AG Museum nearby. I keep meaning to take a picture. My wife still calls my old hairstyle, "The AG swoop," which is weird to me.Well, thanks for the advice. I'll see if I am able to bring that up. I'm sure she'd be into it in theory (if she came upon it on her own). IP: Logged |

Thanks T. I think we are, too. Here's some decoration examples: Not only are there pairs everywhere, but you can see where she modified for a third. A little Minnie Mouse is between the couple at the top. In the center, the Polynesian girl lost her drum, and got a baby stuck in her arms. A cut-out from our wedding invite got changed from JH2 to JH3, and another tiki was drawn on. quote: Swoop? Like Trump?
Nah. His is all pushed forward. Mine was just combed to the side, and the cowlick in the center front of my head ensures there's a wave effect (it directs hair upward rather than down or to the side).IP: Logged |
