Midnight cogitating is it Ovid perhaps straying my thoughts? -maybe not.Is it love falling and peaking tying pretty ribbon bowed knots for always safe keeping? I find these moments idyllically strange- yet I haven't any dire complaints nor can I imagine another way. I'm perfectly happy sitting sprightly in the warmth you emanate for me- day after day. Pearlty.... So Nice!... The 'way' you write encompasses your thought-life with such artistry and has a voice that speaks to us 'outloud' in your quietude. There is such a presence and essentialness to your writings... I can almost 'smell' your thoughts... IP: Logged |

Thank you Mirage! Unfortunately my presence is going to be elsewhere for the rest of the month. I'm helping out at a pick your own apples orchard and market, which I love it so far. I'm looking forward to putting my feet up in a few weeks though, grabbing a hot cocoa, and catching up on the poetry here.. IP: Logged |

Hi Pearlty! I visited your site in the wee hours this morning... Thanks for the photos and sayings....so pretty. Those veggies look amazing, wow! I used to have a garden way long ago.... Your produce look robust-- healthy, perfect specimens. Thanks for the views of trees.... As a youngster I literally 'hung out' in the branches of apple trees on my family's property while we lived in NewEngland. I can recall the fragrance and misty canopy of pink-white petals in the spring-time... The knuckles between the branches were a curious thing to me. And there was artistic wonder how the rain could wet and deepen the browns so vividly, plus leave a slippery slimy coating, until it went away when dried. I remember the sharp smells of fruit rotting on the ground when I'd run them over in my hardy little brown-red shoes in the fall. Apple trees fed the sense of my inner-girliness-- I grew up 'solitary' in the midst of boys-only throughout my childhood years. 'Boys' seemed to Rule.... but I could climb those trees higher than them. Maybe the only one I could impress was 'me'.... in 'my' world, where nobody-else was. Thanks again for your gracious hospitality-- It was my own mini-vacation, a-live refreshment tour! IP: Logged |

Mirage..I love your orchard memories! How endearing. Thanks for taking a moment to check out the photos. It was definitely a bountiful season for the owner. I have enjoyed watching families do something "normal" together such as pick apples for taking home to make sauce, pies, cakes, or for canning/freezing. The field trips that visited there were fun too! It's wonderful to see 70-80 little kindergartners & first graders get off their bus, coming from the city and totally excited to be at a farm. The last group were so cute, the little girls were coming up to me hugging me, holding my hands, padding my head telling me I have a pretty hair; they seemed appreciative for the different experience and spacious environment the country affords. Now that the season is closing, I'm looking forward to a reflective, quiet winter, and writing more poetry. Catching up with my friends- who I haven't had much time for lately but miss dearly, a woman needs her gal pals to survive! Also a possible getaway is in the works, I haven't been on a vacation without kids since I was about 22, so I think the time has finally come for that as well. IP: Logged |
