You're detrimental to my health like smoke in my lungs
Just another snake that I've charmed
baring flesh for two little holes in my arm.
Time has this way of healing nothing
and what a foolish child I was.
I'm wading in waters far from calm
threatening to pull me under
where I can't see the stars
All that's left of us is ash and dust
where our lives once thrived in unison.
Baby, I think you're blind
or maybe it's just me
that's walking reckless on a plane of glass
only far enough to make you miss me.
This game we play has lost it's fun
this song we sing is almost done
I'm picking the wings off of a butterfly

Heart wrenching Glad this is older. I sometimes go back and look where I was especially darker moments,
it tends to bring on an appreciative feeling as to where one is now. IP: Logged |
