You breathe thunder
And I have spent hours tracing the fault lines
On every inch of me that you’ve touched
I’ve felt remarkably hollow
Whispering, shouting
Into the obscure fissures and crevices
That have embedded themselves into my flesh
Only to hear a silence so deafening
A reminder that even my demons
who’ve made their home in my core
Refuse to come out and play
But I never saw the nimble light
No, I never saw it peeking through
Spilling out like a geyser and illuminating
Every person and everything
Who stood just a little too close.
