Sunshine…… Beautiful……. Majestic…… Radiant rays of it, drifting down, falling gloriously from the heavenly sky. Streaks of yellow bursting out, it’s penetration through the cloud complete. The very sight warms my skin, tantalizing me, hypnotizing me, paralyzing me.Falling gloriously from the very gates of heaven, they streak through the eastern sky, shooting down and finally reaching the trees. The rays colliding with the leaves of the trees, just to ricochet off, then head back up to the heavens.
Life…… Alive…… He stood there, in a sea of beautiful trees, all around him the forest boomed with life, nature at its finest. Sitting on an old gnarly log, he sat patiently, taking in the amazing sights, the harmonious sounds, enjoying the inner calmness it brought, within him.
To the north, the sound of crunching leaves, and a chipmunk’s task. The little creature scurrying on the forest floor, seeking, needing, and trying to find food for the day’s meals. It moved gracefully, stopping periodically to pop his head up high, eye’s searching for dangers that might be lurking nearby.
From his perch on that gnarly old log, he had viewed it all. The little chipmunk dance, he thought, a smile creasing across his lips. He was completely at ease, mind, body, and soul. This was his spot, his getaway, his peace, and he visited it periodically, during the summer. A few times a week, he would come to this forest, then sit and watch.
From the south came a serious of tapping sounds, it would bang 6 times, then pause, only to start the sequence anew. The man knew the sound well, welcomed it into his mind, it brought comfort, clarity, and the image of the little wood pecker rapping his tap on an old oak, slowly carving away at his new home.
A warmness kissed him on the skin of his arm. He opened his eyes and stared at it. Some sunlight had gotten through the canopy of trees up above, and had come down to land on his arm. The warmth it brought made his entire body tremble. He stared up, up at the tree canopy, the vastness of tree limbs and leaves, hundreds of limbs going in all directions. He could see the opening that the sunlight had gotten through. Just as it entered through the opening, he could see a beautiful yellow streak. It shot down, from the opening, and touched the forest floor, it impacted and then burst out in all directions. Like a kaleidoscope of light, its show was amazing, surreal, and heavenly.
