I love a lot
not a little
I don't hand out tiny morsels
to satisfy another for a couple days

I love in a way
in which I love poetry
it derives from somewhere-
very old and bypasses
any of these modern day
frivolous meanings

It crosses over oceans
It comes flying out of a cave
set back in a mountain

It's two beautiful birds roused
from the thicket to exchange
a few midnight sounds

It's prayerful and pure
like light streaming down from the clouds.
