Moments

I cherish the moments we have
And when I'm alone I am counting them
like a cheapskate
measuring them from end to end,
why do they end?
They don't have to, really,
just walk with me and see,
they are everywhere.

It's so yellow, the light
flashes upon our faces
like the old pages of a book
reread
Soon the pages shall turn golden brown
like Autumn leaves
some are still green at heart, but not us
We have forseen the glow of the sun
many a time, ready to take it with us
into night
And so, the evening's choir chants
a haunting melody, inviting us in
to the nightingale's chest
never bleeding no more
just beating hearts together
measuring stars

Wow, well done overall. I really especially liked the line, "some are still green at heart, but not us". Surprised me, its a beautifully captured sentiment.
