Upon my mind
your pang came
to wake me

Recognizing
old shoes
light heart

Never mind
the insensitive there
or amass of volatile air

It's not yours
to scoff away with
nor squander

Gather you-
alluring, beyond years
in your own lucidity

While becoming
a propitious
young man

Keep growing-
beautifully
even among the
occasional thorny weeds.

Impressionistic, reflective. I wonder who it is about... And I also wonder about the title, Plucking Thorns.. Whether this is what you are doing through writing the poem.

Thanks both of you!!

Ayelet, the poem is basically about being supportive
toward another. I woke up with someone on my mind and the words were just there.

Thanks for reading Randall. My bedside journal tends to be a God-send at times for processing and purging thoughts.

Oh...and Happy Birthday! Hope it was delightful.

Complex and emotional, very amazing. Says a lot without using too many words
