And when the woman in the train
Leaved her old town behind
He woke up in the morning
Crying out tears of pain
Cause he finally was aware
Of what he has done
To make his true love regretting
The times they have known

They had everything on their side
But he didn’t have his eyes open wide
For the precious times on the river
And the days full of laughter
He could feel her heartbeats
She could feel his distress
And when the clock hit the midnight
It all came down so fast

He didn’t know what was real
Or tried to figure it out
He question it until he couldn’t deal
With the consequences of his doubts
But she wasn’t able to know
He was never able to love
He never gave anybody the glow
He barely started to feel alive

Day after day, year after year
He grew astray from the world
He was blind, blinded with fear
And he lost sight of his needs
It was when he meet her
That’s when he started to care
But when the iron heart was open
It was already too late

He couldn’t guess what she’s feeling
She didn’t know what’s on his mind
It was a heaven but was a prison
Where none could show a thing
And they had friends and dreams
They had stories and schemes
Such a shame and it’s a crime
To waste that bond with petty games

And so he went to the station
You can hear the whistles again
He waits for the midnight train
To chase her down the plains
She wrote out a kind letter
She said” I’ve a lot of pain”
He knew he may not reach her
But he’ll try for the times they’ve known

He may reach her... on the midnight train. The open iron heart is probably the best to which one can aspire. And it shows in the poem
