Original :

Autrefois séparés, tout le jour, toute la nuit,
Ils se lèvent aujourd'hui, désormais réunis ;
Deux éclats de lumière, ils s'illuminent ensemble,
Et marchent, main dans la main, sur un chemin de sable...

Sol le flamboyant et Luna l'étincelante,
N'ont cessé de s'aimer depuis la nuit des temps ;

--

(Attempt at) translation :

Once held apart, all day, all night,
They rise today, and now reunite ;
Two bursts of light, together they shine,
As they walk hand in hand along the sanded line...

The glazing Sol and his glistening Luna,
Have been in love since the dawn of time ;
Today they are one, and confess at last
The tale of their love, an iridescent lifetime...

And chapters full of desires and passion,
A tremendous fondness and the greatest affection,
Will sow as an epilogue, sprinkling on golden ashes
Their cherished memories... most precious treasures.

--

Hope you like it !

It is enchanting. And the translation really flows. Is it yours?

Peluches,

It's been too long since I've seen your name!
Thank you. This is lovely. The romance between Sun and Moon really is the true love.

Held apart all day, all night..

I bet it sounds magical in French.

Thank you, everyone !

Ayelet,
Thank you ! Yes it's mine ! I wrote it thinking about two lovers reunited (impersonating Sun and Moon in an eclipse) walking on a sanded path. That later turned out to be a lovely image for a field of stars, but it's not mine ; I realised it by chance, only after having written it.

Mirage,
Oh what a lovely music ! Thank you, it's beautiful.

Tink ! I've missed you and the others ; it's true I don't come back here often. As I'd written something (what an achievement for me by the way, haha) I thought I'd post for the first time in Yellow Wax, because I've been reading some absolutely beautiful poems here... and also for a change from Interpersonal.
I wrote it first in French, where it actually sounds more rythmical (syllables and alexandrines), but I tried to translate it sticking to the initial sense and adding in some rhymes.

Peluches .. Your poem is even more striking to me since you've told us this is about an eclipse! Wow!! Great description.

Normally, a few more of us are regularly here. I know Pearlty suddenly had more responsibility thrust on her recently, and, well, ~Life Happens.

I had to back off a bit, rest, but I'm hoping to come back. (I owe Ayelet a post!! {{ }})

Have catching up to do here at LL YW. No hard promises!!!, but I'm working on it.

So happy that we have Tink and Peluches joining the group now! Fine additions. ....And woah!!! I'm going to miss my bus! See ya!
