The clock strikes two and she starts to cry,
if you don't know her then you won't know why,
would you cry if I told you the story of this girl,
where black and white were her whole world,

Alone at night as she lies on her bed,
wondering tonight if she'll get any rest,
from all the voices that are in her head,
telling her that she'll never be the best,

As you watch her drift to sleep,
you see her soul is finally at peace,
the most important thing you see is,
when she sleeps is when she dreams,

And she dreams in colour, Mmm,
oh she dreams in colour,

The orange and reds of a caring lover,

The yellows and greens of a protective brother,

The blues and violets of a world to discover,

The dusky browns of a road yet undiscovered,

As she looks up at the dark,
searching vainly for a spark,
the smallest fire to ignite her,
the hopes and dreams that dwell inside her,

The shooting stars light up the sky,
fill her heart and help her fly,
the light that bursts is filled with colour,
and now you see she's filled with wonder,

The world that once was black and white,
now has finally come to life,
the most important thing you see is,
now she dreams, she dreams she's free,

And she dreams in colour, Mmm,
oh she dreams in colour,

Of course, the rolodex of songs in my mind went searching.... and I can relate songs about that which pertain to ME, and not so much your poem.

I was always more of a reader than a poster, but that's part of my personality anyway.

There is little colour in my waking at the moment, but thank you all for your kind words.

P.S I wrote it as a song, I am in the process of writing the right music to go with it.
