I once have felt the grace
Of a consuming love
My skin was prone to earthquakes
My eyes were crying leaves
How far it had pierced me
To the roots hidden deep
It was water, it was a fire
So strong it made you weepShe was dressed in white
The day we first met
Her fragrance was made of orchards
It was the most pleasant scent
We danced and danced through the midnight
Who could have guessed
She made me renewed to experience
The sparks of a loving bliss
I felt like an orphan
That a priestess took his hand
To save him from his loneliness
To make him a noble man
It burned, it burned this love
So wrong that it felt right
It was the whiskey of the weekends
It was the blues of the night
I dreamt she was a writer
Who wrote me “My love is for thee”
I dreamt she was a dancer
Who released my humanity
It beat it beat, this heart of mine
So fast that it was not right
It pumped for the distant glory
It pumped for the unreachable light
I tried to be an actor
The incarnation of the wild
Yet her smile softly turned me
Into a meek and playful child
It showed, it showed this love of mine
Like fireworks in the sky
I tried to hide it but it was no use
She saw it all through my eyes
She was a fairy tale
The elusive Arabian queen
She was the ruler of Persepolis
The maker of Jerusalem
I was the young Aladdin
The chaser of Lady Di
But the old genie had told me
She was born to be free
I overdosed with anxiety
I could not say a word
The sound of my heartbeats
It was all that she heard
It hurts it hurts, this love of mine
The sands slipped off my hands
Her soul was made of magic
That I could never understand
As the waltz, was almost over
She kissed my lips goodbye
It was a pleasure this swing time
I could not help but cry
The time begin to froze
So I could send her a smile
I took a picture of the moment
That she’ll remember through the miles
I once have felt the grace
Of a consuming love
She was like poetry, the spirit of the muse
A holy whirlwind of life
How far it had reached me
To the roots hidden deep
It was water, it is a fire
That joins me in my sleep
