I wrote this for my father who used to watch Lone and Wolf and Cub with me. My father has always had an interest in Eastern Asian cultures. My father is a black belt in several forms of martial arts; Kung foo, Judo, Jiu Jitzu, Thai Kickboxing, as well as the Chinese sport: Wu-sho The poem is in the form of the Japanese style; Haiku-TonkaRonin's daughter His quest is her own She chose the sword not the ball To follow him on By fires they sit He laments to her legends Forgotten by man Fascinated she listens The flames dancing in his eyes Her Ronin Father Over snowy peaks Through forests of greenest jade They wander alone Beneath blossom trees They sleep to the sound of reeds Her sweet dozing face Fills him with joy and with grief Some day the winds will part them Like leaves of Autumn A Ronin's journey Is too much a fate for her And ice cold like snow Her father's embrace A man like water and earth Deepest meaning, noble worth Tear stricken she bows The Ronin leaves on Written to Ancient Echoes by Eternal Tapestry. That's impressive about your father whitewitch and all his Martial Arts skills, I would imagine it takes immense focus. Regarding your poem.. Loved it, and these few lines were especially touching... "Beneath blossom trees They sleep to the sound of reeds Her sweet dozing face Fills him with joy and with grief Some day the winds will part them Like leaves of Autumn" IP: Logged |
