Do you ever press your face against the warmth of a person's chest
and marvel in the way
that the very thing keeping them alive
is audible, deep down inside the cage of bones and flesh
and do they seem suddenly fragile
like at any moment, the steady beating of those chambers will cease
and that just by listening for a second too long you could have caused it
because life is too precious
too vulnerable
too complex to simply sing it's song in the ear of a girl
and the universe just won't allow it
and so you inch away from this place
brush your skin against their skin
and return to your pillow

LeonisStar  So warm, tender, and sensitive. An image that came to me, as an example, is of a loving daughter who is caring for an invalid or sick father, or someone close like that. And no. I don't think pressing-in and the desire to be closer-than-ever to this person can steal life away from them. Can only add .. to their life.
