I’ve gotta stop caring if they care,
I have to stop wondering if they stare
I have to stop trying to create a friendly vibe
I have to stop wondering if they know I’m alive
I have to stop reaching out with good intent
I have to start believing the chilly messages I’m sent
I have to start standing with my head held high
I have to stop caring because it makes me cry
I have to stop beating on a concrete door
I have to stop wanting to make this place more
