Maybe this chasm sprung up between us
so that we wouldn’t move too fast
Maybe we’re being forced to build a bridge
for a love that will truly last
Maybe I’m being given the space and time
To heal my broken heart
Maybe I would have hurt you
if we didn’t have the time apart
Maybe I’m finally facing down
the fears inside my soul
Maybe I’m taking the space I need
So I will be ready to give my heart whole
Maybe we needed the pain of longing
for a time where we make a fresh start
Maybe we had to experience desire
before we were ready to share our hearts------------------

For everyone (besides Randall) who has followed the Fish saga, this poem resulted from the vibe that I have, as do several other friends, that the connection/situation is *not* done yet. One friend went on to say that her gut says our paths will cross again once I have done the healing working I need to do, which includes my last relationship. This made me wonder if I might have botched this if it happened before I was ready to move on with both my heart and head. Maybe we are being kept apart right now for a reason...------------------

It's funny, Lotusheartone...The Fish came into my dreams exactly a month ago, where he came up to my desk (but not the desk I had while we worked together), with him asking me to finish working on a particular client because I was the one that had "brought them in"... That plus I have been hearing that Simple Minds song you mentioned more often lately, one of the two songs I always associate with him now...and I was literally thinking about him this evening and the song popped on the radio again ::sighs:: I hear you, Mr. Fish...and I am calling you. I am also working on some major healing work right now, between a gratitude journal, writing a forgiveness list, and starting with a new therapist tomorrow. I am committed to healing my heart, making ready for the love coming. ------------------
