You are NOT being old fashioned! I have never liked that word...except when used in context of dog breeding....where even there the more genteel prefer Dam to bit-h for the female canine.
Some folks may find unseemly language as an erotic form of banter....but I.. even in my most wild of days...preferred to hear such somewhat less crude things said of wild or attractive sexy women...or liberated women. Vixen...minx...
vamp...not as crude as bit-h or sl-t.
Or perhaps use...
Temptress...ravishing beauty...seductress..
SO....
If you are old fashioned...then so am I.
Funny thing is....the only men who ever called me the B or S words...were ones I had not bedded. Or ones who felt threatened by me. A man who uses that word as a form of flirting...has never and will never find his way to me. In fact..if said later on..he is out!
But as for the hearing of it in usage by and to others...
I have learned to take the hearing of the use of these words in stride...it seems to be the way of people's vocabularies nowadays.
Something I suspect to do with what is in much music and movies.
I do not think the word bit-h has the same low slimy connotation it had decades back...at least not all the times now. It seems to be taken and even given as a compliment in certain conversations.
But I still am not comfortable with this new lax useage of crudery in lieu of compliments.
But to each their own methinks. Just spare me such ambiguos and dubious compliments.

So perhaps you and I are old fashioned.

The word B!tch wasn't used by Magus to offend, he was referring to a conversation over on that other thread that I referenced... when MG called me one.

I am not offended by that, as I know the context.
Magus knows I am not a ______... I'm confident about that.
On my worst of days, I know I don't deserve that title, I am too consumed with thoughts of others to be labeled in such a way.. Even if I choose to act on the offensive, I do it respectfully... because I feel things. I always assume.. If I feel it, others will as well. Just as if THEY feel it, I will.
Or I will apologize readily.

These are not qualities that can be labelled in that way.

Magus talks to me often and has always been extemely respectful towards me! He has also been very honest and interesting!
Never once has he ever called me a crude name...
I myself do often cuss..so does he....
yet it has never been directed at each other!
So...
