re: disappearing posts: I think they've been having some issues with their server - I've seen this phenomenon mentioned a few times.

Edited to add: I've also noticed that I have to hit "refresh" before I can see my new posts.

I was born and raised in CT and currently abroad as well. It was wonderful to visit - food for the soul.

Joan, it's great to hear you had a good time. Do you want to move back permanently?

As for the biltong.. it was one of the things I craved for a long time and had my fill back home.

I don't know. The minute I got back home in SA I was anxious because I felt the pangs of having to leave all over again and come back to America. There's something about being home, in Joburg, the spirit, the culture, the energy, the beauty of the country, the people, the languages, the food, it's nothing like here in the States.

I'm already counting the days till this coming Fall when I get to go back for hopefully a month or two. I'm just ready for something different and there really is no place like home. I don't know how much longer I can take of these back and forth 18 hour flight trips, it's too much. My family's there, my friends, I can relocate my career. When I move there soon, I don't know if I'll ever leave. I think I've had enough of living in the States to last 20 lifetimes. It's time to get back to my roots. I never really saw myself staying in the States and the only other place I'd ever live on the planet is South Africa so...
