I belonged to the local astrological group and had hundreds of dollars in astrology books. My specialty was medical astrology.

Then a minister came to my house before the baptism of my son and told me I was doing the work of the devil... so I disposed on everything. It scared me.

Lately I've been thinking about it a lot and wonder if it really is of the devil. I always considered it God's computer.

I'm dipping back into it now. It's like I just can't stay away.

This place looks like a good place to start. I like threads that ask for definitions of what a certain planet placement or aspect does in your life. Very interesting. Like: If you have moon in cancer how was your homelife? etc. etc. I think we can all learn from that.

I gave up my astrology books for the sake of religion at one point, too. But I could never give up my belief in the truth of sun signs. It was too obvious to me; for instance, I can often guess correctly what week of the year a person is born in, just by talking to them.

Finally, after struggling with my conscience for a few years, I found clarity and direction in Gandhi's saying, "There is no god higher than Truth." And I realized that astrology is true, and it's not my fault that it's true, I can see it plain as day.

So if someone tries to tell me I am "satanic" merely for having powers of observation, to see the truth...I realized that is their problem. It all sounds very simple, but I think anyone who's ever been religious knows that it can be very hard to step outside the bounds of religious thinking, when you are used to it.

Anyway...welcome!!! Hope you enjoy the forum.

Well said, Faith. I still believe in God and I think He is the final say when it comes to these bad aspects we all have.

Another Christian friend recently told me that the reason people think astrology is wrong is a few references in the Bible to soothsayers, etc. But it's all in the interpretation. Soothsayer is a fortune teller and I don't do that. The wise men who followed the star to Jesus's birth were astrologers. I use astrology to better understand a person and to help overcome those bad aspects and improve the person's life. How is that bad?

I never use it to predict the future and I don't think astrology can predict the future.. per se. It can show trends and possibilities but not exact fortune telling. If someone can do that with astrology then they are indeed psychic as well. Each to his own, but I am now comfortable dabbling in the stars again, AND, believe in God.

So I no longer think Astrology is wrong or satanic.

Astrology is a science, God's computer used to give us all unique personalities and lives. That's my take now. Wish I'd have had the backbone to realize that 20 yrs ago.

Thank you for your reply, Barbee.

First, I can't guess everyone's sign..it depends on many factors, like how sensitive I am at that time (transits affecting me, diet, etc) and how recognizable their energy is to me. Third decan Taurus for example, is conjunct my south node, and I can usually spot it pretty fast. Other signs are harder if not impossible for me to guess.

I agree that the Bible does not forbid astrology; I looked into it extensively as well. And it's true that the wise men were astrologers so.....

So they were just satanic?? So why put them in the manger with your nativity scene at Christmas, people??

It's all too twisted for me.

And I've had enough of people who don't understand astrology making it out to be something it's not, insisting that all astrology is predictive fortune telling/soothsaying. They won't even look at astrology long enough to see what it is, to refute it with a little smidgen of knowledge... yet we are supposed to be ruled by their blind, ignorant judgements? Not me-- not anymore.

Another point to make is that who created the stars and planets? God. Not Satan.
