i also found this site combining some of them together and describing the signs a little, i found mine quite accurate (although im guessing this site isn't a proper professional or anything)

But I'd like to know if there is supposed to be any correlation between the 12-year Chinese cycle and Jupiter cycles.

Obviously there isn't a connection with Western astrology, because there have been instances where our Western Jupiter signs weren't trined with our "compatible" trined Chinese signs, the Horse and the Tiger.

The day and month signs are supposed to be the most relevant when dealing with relationship compatibility. The day actually representing your core personality. I never go by the year, cause I share that with so many other people.
www.chinese.astrology.com and www.fortuneangel.com are good ones, but sometimes they say different signs.
You also need to look at the element that sign is in, to tell true compaitbility. I think fortuenangel is the only one that will tell you that.

had a pretty good description of the 'snake' ..

either way, the description of snake in general is so bang on with me.

especially the parts about thinking too much, i think too much.. it annoys me, especially since i have mercury in virgo in the 3rd house, im running out of breathing space in there.

The Tiger sign is sometimes considered malevolent so the number of births that year are usually lower than the rest.

Year 2000 was considered one of the most auspicious (or actually the most auspicious) year to have babies because the children would be 'Golden' Dragons. You are not merely a Dog, Horse, Rat etc, you are either Earth/Wood/Metal/Water and so on.
Furthermore the year 2000 is significant being the new Millenium and all. The combination is said to happen once every 2000 years ( I think, I forgot the details, just that it was very rare.)
