Depends on the aspect. If Mercury and Mars are in good aspect, there's a sense of intellectual action; arguments ensue with the square and opposition.IP: Logged |

I like this aspect. It's like the two people make each other think differently. There might be a tendency to argue, but overall I've found I really like it because you're both thinking of things in new ways as you converse.
Unless it's a square, which might make you fight more than debate. IP: Logged |

Excited, intense, or wishing for peace. It depends on the Mercury person. If they like the fuel, conversations can be great.
Otherwise Mercury would view Mars as irritating and some kind of bully. IP: Logged |

I think mars will encourage mercury to communicate more which can be a good thing or not.Usually its the slower planet that trys to conform the faster.
So mercury's influence on mars is that its communication attracts the attention of the mars person who will put their drive to work encouraging or upseting mercury. PS air fans the flame of fire so mars may find mercury enflaming.

i have this aspect with an ex. his mercury, my mars AND my mercury are all at the same degree in aquarius. we argued ALL the time. the weird thing is, though, he just nagged and picked and fought with me and i rarely gave in, cuz when i'd try to engage his 'debates' he'd just get nasty. well he was an aries moon vs. my taurus moon so maybe my mars was activating his mars-ruled moon. when we did have good conversations, they were fast, fiesty and stimulating. and i should add, our relationship ended 6 years ago and he STILL tries to argue with me the rare times we actually speak. i get the sense that he found me very mentally stimulating but that he had to fight me to get me to change my mind on certain things. but there's a definite mental CLICK between us that he won't let go of and i've tried so hard to help him do. he gets downright abusive, frankly. for instance, he will start telling me i'm mentally disturbed because i believe astrology and just try to hammer the point home and won't give up. but of course he's not interested in an ACTUAL debate, cuz he's never studied it. he got his debunking info from some book  and studied astronomy for a year, so he's an expert. very freaking annoying. anyway, i find it kinda weird that in this case, mercury is definitely the fighter and mars is running away saying leave me alooooone!!
