what's the difference between them?
what's each one used for?
also are connections to another persons chart "real" when looking at yours in progression/transit to their progressed/transit/natal?IP: Logged |

Progressions just show growth over time--ordinarily not events. They are slow and gradual.Transits to planets and angles show focus or accent points--what we are working on when. They often have events connected to them. Transits across houses show changes in the activities of the house. IMHO only accurate natal charts should be used for comparisons. Either progressed or transit charts could only show a temporary state (temporary can be anything from days, to weeks to several years) ------------------

Internal vs. external. Progressions mainly take place inside, and transits are events coming from the outside (although they do affect our inner worlds as well). IP: Logged |

I will share my experience with progressions. I've never looked at them closely until recently, and was surprised to find them extremely true for me. In fact, all the major aspects that progressed planets/angles did to natal angles/personal planets did work in one way or another. Just as an example, when progressed IC opposed natal Venus, I had to move out of the appartment I really loved and to accept much worse lodging conditions, which made me very depressed as I was literally attached to that place. At the same time, progressed MC made a conjunction to my natal Venus, and I got a job which was a real step forward in my career and was one I really enjoyed.
PS What I wrote above concerns Solar Arc progressions. ------------------
