Could it be short for Retrograde? I have seen a little "R" next to a planet in my chart and assumed it meant the planet was Retrograde at the time of my birth.------------------ ------------------ Sun: Scorpio Moon: Capricorn Ascendant: Libra Venus in Sagittarius Mars in Sagittarius IP: Logged |

Retro means the planet was retrograde. In astrology retrograde planets are thought to manifest more at a internal level than direct planets, so they are less obvious than direct planets. IP: Logged |

It means that, in terms of astrology, the planet was in a backward motion. From what I understand it means lessons carried from previous lifetimes.IP: Logged |

so for example, my uranus is retrograde, does that mean my 'uranian' energy is toned down on all the planets it aspects?(im very 'uranian') it kind of makes sense, i don't believe im over energized in an extrovert way, but in an internal level i think so alcohol certainly brings it out in me though! ChryseisThat’s very interesting I have Saturn Retrograde in my chart and my father was not around after the age of 14, he also passed away pretty early in life he was in his early 50’s. I also have Jupiter in the 10th Retrograde as well. Not sure of the significance of that in my chart, anyone know? ------------------ ------------------ Sun: Scorpio Moon: Capricorn Ascendant: Libra

read the second link, and again, wow, very accurate, this is so true: "Neptune retrograde in your natal chart indicates that you could feel inhibited by the harsh realities of the physical world, choosing to spend a lot of time in your own imagination. Daydreams could replace active participation in life inhibiting your ability to realize your potentials in the areas of life represented by the house where Neptune is placed. Substance abuse can be triggered by a need to escape and you can fall prey to your own illusions if you don’t accept people as they are and use your sensitivity to let go of limitations as you stay connected to others." Libralove, Scorp31, and all,Yeah, I just thought I would mention it Libluv. And yeah, Scorp, I think retro planets take a back seat and push us to source those qualities within rather than enlist others to do it for us. So yeah, their effect tends to be more internalised at least initially.

Retrograde planets appear to move backward. Personally, it might mean you do things in a very individualistic manner. You may need time to figure things out in a way that works for you, rather than what society expects. Like someone else said, it's a very personal experience. Thoughts and feeling are deep inside, but they struggle to get out or make sense of. There could be a delay in what the planet represents. IP: Logged |

(from first link) Retrograde Saturn: These people nearly always grave doubts about their worthiness as human beings. Can be very childlike in their behavior & fearful of taking chances. This is an ego-reducing kind of situation. There is usually a subconscious fear of rejection & of loss. Their limitations & responsibilities are self-imposed. This is probably the most difficult retrograde. Retrograde Uranus: Here is a natural born rebel. Strong reformer instincts — for everybody else. These folks have a strong inner need & desire to persistently test their personal abilities against those of others. They must constantly prove themselves to themselves. In seeking greater freedom for themselves, they may limit the freedom of others. Retrograde Neptune: These people are frequently confused inwardly as to whether they are “virtuous” or not. Persistently seek to help others, whether their help is wanted or not. They are more susceptible & more easily taken in by others.this is me to a T. Ouchies. (from second link) Saturn retrograde in your natal chart, indicates that you are likely to have been abused by those with power over you, perhaps having faced unfair situations at home. You may need to declare personal boundaries, to work out conflicts with authority on a karmic scale. You could feel that fate conspires against your desires but it’s really you putting the brakes on through feelings of persecution or inhibition in the house where it is placed until you work out how to face doing or confronting whoever or whatever it is that threatens you. Your lesson is one of patience and steady application of hard work as you overcome the impatient urge to cut corners. Everything you gain will be hard won but you will eventually succeed, win the respect of others and actually can shine where you faced difficulties before. If Uranus is retrograde in your natal chart, you fare more than ready to try something new and are very likely to experience wide fluxuations in circumstances in the areas of life represented by the house in which Uranus is placed even if your manner has a tendency to hide it. You really do have a tendency to push thing to extremes there. You are actually a catalyst for positive energies if you channel your rebelliousness into originality as you move toward independence and personal freedom. Karma indicates that you are here to learn about individuality, opening up to an attitude that change is very good and that personal experimentation with the cultural order is as great way to shake this up. Neptune retrograde in your natal chart indicates that you could feel inhibited by the harsh realities of the physical world, choosing to spend a lot of time in your own imagination. Daydreams could replace active participation in life inhibiting your ability to realize your potentials in the areas of life represented by the house where Neptune is placed. Substance abuse can be triggered by a need to escape and you can fall prey to your own illusions if you don’t accept people as they are and use your sensitivity to let go of limitations as you stay connected to others. i like the second link better, more hopeful to me lol. but man am i fuc$ed IP: Logged |

LibraLove, I also have Saturn, Uranus and Neptune RX, and they are all located in the first house. Talk about always having an ominous presence, Saturn RX definitely hits me hard sometimes, in the past year or so I started realizing that its only up to yourself to enjoy yourself, Saturn RX can be a bit harsh because others prey on your uneasiness with this RX, RX planets I feel can come out as social awkwardness, especially if they are in the first house or conjunct the Asc. You should check out your progressed chart and see where these RX planets have progressed to. I did this recently and realized RX Uranus was more closely conjunct to my Asc. than Saturn RX, which I guess means Uranus transits are more prominent... IP: Logged |

Wow I am really screwed, I have five planets retro: Venus,Mercury,Saturn,Uranus, and Neptune. The last three create a first house stellium and Venus and Uranus aspect my ascendant, beautiful really.Yes I come across very socially awkward and unconventional, surely I can't hate my birthchart anymore then I have for the past couple months. Even if a lot of creativity and understanding pours from it... Being sick on top of this is not fun either.. IP: Logged |
