For example is Aries still 21st March - 20th April and Libra 23rd September - 22 October.I'm actually born on the cusp of Libra/Scorpio on 22 October, so does that make me a Scorpion in vedic astrology? Many thanks Miss Mystic IP: Logged |

The birthdate remains the same but Vedic astrologers use the Sidereal Zodiac instead of Tropical. So in Vedic if you are born a Taurus, for example, your Sun would have definitely been in that constellation. In our western system (tropical) the precession of the equinoxes has caused the point of the Sun to slide backward with time, so that Taurus sun may not have actually been in the constellation Taurus, but Aries instead. Both systems work, but that is a discussion for another time. The two systems are about 24 degrees apart at this point, with the vedic system being 24 degrees behind. So if you are a Western Sun at 29 degrees Libra, you would still be a Libra at about 5 degrees in the Vedic system. IP: Logged |
