do they attract or are they grating?

How is the dynamic and does it keep pulling you in close or attract and repel please?

I never had such impressive experiences in love relationships or close friendships where the moons were supposedly 'compatible' with my moon...don't know why either (maybe it's that 12th house thing, and my Sun not liking it)
I got more odd comfort with the oppositions and even the squares from time to time.
Most close moon connections, where I felt secure:

Taurus
Libra
Cancer
Virgo (conjuncts mine, so it makes sense, i suppose)
Scorpio

I'd think the opposition would be attractive to a degree. Two of my Libra moon involvements (both good friends) were extremely close to my heart. Ok, I sometimes wanted to strangle them .... but we still managed to get along pretty damn well, considering.
Oppositions are attracting, not repellent to me.
Moments of not understanding how the other relates, but hey, when doesn't that happen LOL

So interesting.. so opposites in this way do attract. I guess the opposition of such intimate planets could be seen as a conjunct then?

Amazing how there is so much happiness from the opposition of moons.

MVM, why did l think you had Aries moon?

I had a friend with an opposing moon and we were immediately drawn to each other. There were times where we got along amazingly well. We knew each other's thoughts immediately without saying a word and had the same goofy sense of humor. But this didn't last. After a couple of years of friendship, we fought bitterly to the point where we ended our friendship.

It seems like when things were good, they were really good and when things were bad, they were really bad. It didn't help that we also had opposing suns and opposing venuses.

I will definitely try to avoid an opposing moon in the future; it's really not worth it in my opinion.

i have a leo moon and my bf has an aqua moon. how interesting. i thought we were doomed due to this opposition but it actually works out quite well. we are balanced. we have rekindled our relationship and are learning to accept eachothers drastic differences. we stopped trying to change eachother. we have to learn to speak eachothers language. for instance i told him the only way im leaving him is if he kills me or i die. that means "honey i love you and i am dedicated to you always" he shows his feelings so when he says...well...these moments are few, well anyway, for instance, he'll say something about putting money away for a house or retirement. that means hes in it for the long haul, too, just in a different way than me. he seems so distant and can be very quiet, but takes in EVERYTHING. when i have my fits, he stays cool. i love it. cant have two of me, thats for sure. all in all, we balance eachother out nicely.

To me opposition in synastry suppose to be quite positive, the attraction is there and once the push-pull energy is properly dealt with, it becomes like a portable generator that you can turn on/off at will.

But this is the moon we're talking about. So most of the issues coming from it will be at subconscious level. It will surely take some time to really learn to admire the differences and appreciate each other, and will take a lot of love too.

My first love and I have an exact moon/moon opposition (plus his moon conjuncts my N Node and opposes my S Node). The second we met I knew we were soulmates - I felt a huge jolt in my solar plexus and I'm pretty sure he did too.
At first it started out so sweet and wonderful - the typical Cancer/Pisces kinship and warm and ardently romantic feelings but then things happened and after that it always felt like Fate was keeping us apart. We chased after each other for years and years but the timing was never right. Whenever he wanted me I was with someone else and then when I wanted him he was with someone else.
He's still in my life to some degree but I'm married now so there are firm boundaries to our friendship - we exchange the ocassional message on MySpace (saying Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas or "how are things going with you these days?", etc.) but I refuse to go beyond that. He tried to push beyond the boundaries when we got back in touch a couple years ago but I made it clear that our contact can only be on the internet, with strict boundaries, and he now respects that and behaves appropriately.

His still being in my life counts for a lot because I've cut most people out of my life and my inner circle consists of me, my husband, and my best friend...beyond that my first love is one of the only people I've kept in my life and keep in regular actual touch with.

I don't know if it's the moon opposite moon aspect that made it seem like fate was keeping us apart yet forever attracted to each other; we have a lot of interesting synastric aspects besides moon opposite moon. I'm a Cancer with a Virgo Moon and Aqua ASC; he's a Pisces with a Pisces Moon and Virgo ASC. Other aspects of note:
His ASC forms an exact grand trine with my Valentine and Juno (plus my Sun/ASC midpoint) and exactly conjuncts my Atlantis and Merlin. My ASC conjuncts his Mercury and trines his Eros. His Valentine conjuncts my Sun and Mercury. His Juno and Karma trines my Sun and Mercury. My Karma squares his Moon and ASC. There are so many more important and potent aspects between us so I think I should stop here or else this post will just go on and on.

WOW Tigerlily,

mine is 0' degrees exact too. Libra/Aries and his nn/sun sextiles my moon exact. His vertex/union trines it exact and my vertex sextiles his moon exact and his vertex.
His moon also opposes my venus/saturn/amor/MC and squares my valentine.

How amazing! We have so many exact aspects its crazy.

WEll the few Gemini moons i've met i don't really get along with. i typically dont get along with anyone with major gemini influence..except for mercury in gemini (and my mercury is in sag)...those people excite and challenge me in an entertaining and active way. MOOn in gemini people just **** me off for no reason lol

I had this with my past love: me-virgo, him-pisces. It wasn't an exact opposition but I was worried about it anyways since I've seen the virgo-pisces polarity in my mom and sis and its not always pretty. This, however, was not really the same. We had differences, but they were pretty lovely. He was definitely less critical than I was and taught me to chillax. Our thoughts were on the same wavelength too, I just remember the numerous times we said the same things at the same time as the same reaction. Or, I remember when our mutual friend would ask us both for our advice seperately, and our words to her were usually very similar.

I don't know if it was because of his scorpio sun which pretty much completed a grand trine between my sun (cancer) and his moon (pisces) but the telepathic wavelength was pretty freaky sometimes. LOLOLOL

I like it overall, even if things didn't work out with him in the end. the pisces moons I usually get along with the most out of all things pisces anyways.

Hi Lara We are opposites... you and I. If I remember, you are an Aries sun? I am a Libra sun. It is difficult to understand opposites. I almost started the exact same thread a couple days ago though... and I didn't see your thread until today.
A friend of mine (in my social circle) who I have always just naturally loved but never gotten close to... expressed an interest in getting to know me better recently. We went on a date and it is hard to explain... but I will try some. I am Capricorn moon. He is Cancer moon (and Mars) and his Cancer planets fall into my 7th house. Our moons are opposite by 1 degree.
At the beginning I found him attractive, but not in a desperately, falling in love sort of way. Just a "he's cute and nice" and I admire some of his qualities sort of way. We eventually shared some kisses but it never went any further due to a misunderstanding in our emotional natures. 10 years ago I let him "crash" at my house after a group night out and we ended up "sleeping" next to each other and after we kissed again he wanted to take it further and I declined saying we would need to "date" some and get to know each other and basically, "I'm not that kind of girl" type of thing though I did not say those exact words (which caused the confusion, I guess). His exact words were, "Don't you like me?" (and he said it in this sweet, sensitive little boy voice) and I remember I just thought it was a line and there was no way my Capricorn moon was falling for it. But, for years later we kept in touch by email and his nickname for me in his email has always been, "gypsy queen".
He broke up with a long time girlfriend 6 months ago and recently emailed me and asked me if I wanted to get together. He made sure to say that he "would pay" and also made sure to say "or a dinner and a movie" when I suggested hanging out to see a band (since he was in my favorite band 10 years ago) and that is when we hung out... after shows.
Anyway, he made this huge effort to firmly communicate to me and I understood and appreciated it and I knew exactly what he was trying to say. There is this huge distance between us emotionally it seems... but there is an interest in finding out what is on that other shore. And there is this comfortable "wholeness" that is just there and unsaid but felt just the same.
I really have no idea where he is coming from though... and he surprised me this weekend. There are things about him that are so hidden until I really make an effort to get close or bridge the gap.

But that's how it feels to me, Lara.

How does it feel to you?
