Topic: Can every internet chart be wrong about my Venus sign???

My whole life I have always been certain of my Venus being in Leo. This was based on the chart my mum did for me once I was born. I'm sure I have seen my birthtime counted as Venus in Leo other places though, too.
Having read up on the descriptions I feel pretty confident it's one of the most accurate parts of my chart.
I would be quite shocked and confused to accept it was in another sign, not to mention the fact I'd loose some faith in beloved astrology.
So why does every site say it's Venus in Virgo????

Do you have a birth certificate? Put your exact birth time, date, and place into Astrodienst, and it will account for time zones/etc. There could be many factors affecting the way you experience your Venus energy--aspects, house placement, the rest of your chart... IP: Logged |

Maybe you have some aspects that could kinda flavor your Venus to seem more Leo like? I've got Gemini in Venus but it opposes Uranus and Saturn, and the decanate of my Venus is ruled by Aquarius, so Venus has almost seemed more Aquarian like than Gemini, plus Mercury is conjunct my Sun in Leo, so I've got some Leo flavoring my Mercury ruled Venus. Well............Weirdly enough, astro.com is already a bit funky with my chart in other respects. I'm a Capricorn Ascendant (with my correct time of birth) in every other chart except astro.com... and trust me, I look the epitome of a Cappy Asc! Yet, If I enter 17:10 as my birth time in astro.com it tells me I'm Aquarius Ascendant! So I have to put 16:10. :S However, with both times, Venus is in Virgo. Sorry to pester all you kind people, but I must solve this once and for all! If anyone feels helpful, my birth data is 7th September 1990
@ 17:10 (I think!... not so sure now!)

maybe your venus is on 0 degrees. in my experience those who have planet on 0 and 29 have in common with both signs between which the planet is located. or ur venus is on a leonine degree or its maybe heavily aspected by some other planet IP: Logged |

Do not discount the effect of the Sidereal Chart's flavouring on the Tropical. Your Venus will always be Leo in the Sidereal Chart.IP: Logged |

evander- Thank you, good point! It is like 0.24 degrees or something. But I ahven't previously believed in cusp effects... I always thought you were either one thing or another?Iqhunk- What might a Sidereal Chart be?

I dunno Evander, my Venus is 29* Cancer and I don't have ANY Venus in Leo traits. Hey MNF, are you sure your mom got the right minute? Ask her. She may have been off a minute or two. Also, some doctors add a minute or two when telling birth times. I was there at both my kids birth and made sure the minutes were accurate; and this was before I got into astrology. It had always made me curious if the docs were putting the right birth times in. Also, you should check your birth certifacate. I for many years kept saying I was born at 11:33 am, then 11:27am, then I saw my birth certifacate and it said 11:24 am which is probably more close to 11:22 or 11:23 am. ------------------

Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚

well, this seems pretty clear to me, that maybe your mother doesn't remember the hour you was born?your venus is very close to being in the cusp of virgo/leo. maybe she has the birth time wrong slightly? can venus move enough degrees within a few hours though? my mum doesn't know my exact birth time, mine is the difference of up to 30 mins, but fortunatley in my chart, not a great deal changes, i still can't tell which houses my 5th and 11th are in though, and im unsure if my sun is in 1st or second. p.s., i checked out our synastry, it was quite nice  IP: Logged |

Your venus is definitely in Leo. According to vedic astrology, which is more accurate, your venus would be at 7 degrees leo not virgo. The difference between both systems is 23 degrees apart. Do you feel it more to be leo than virgo? Looks like it.  IP: Logged |

Thank you for the replies!Got Gemini?- Hey there, yeah I guessed she might be wrong but I would have needed to be born several hours earlier to make me Venus in Leo! The minutes make little difference to mine, what about yours? LibraLove- No, Venus was moving very slowly that day! And.... thanks? haha. Nice to know. savanna- Interesting! But if the difference between the systems is 23 degrees apart wouldn't that change all my other placments too? I do feel more Leo Venus than Virgo... I'm Virgo sun already which accounts for a lot but I definitely have this side which secretly wants constant adulation and heaps of affection and praise in love. Interestingly, I looked at Virgo Venus again and it is true I will sometimes do stuff to impress love interests but this could be my Virgo sun...? Plus, I feel very happy with the rest of my chart and feel that a change in it a smidgen would not be right.... So I guess I am a Virgo/Leo cusp if at all possible?? IP: Logged |

Yes, it would. According to the vedic system, you're a Leo Sun, Pisces Moon, Mercury and Venus in Leo and your mars in taurus. If your ascendant is correct, you're a saggy rising. FYI, there's no such thing as being a cusp of this or that. IP: Logged |

@Got Gemini?I guess it might be a thing related to wrong time of birth. But these people I've observed made me think like this. I myself have jupiter at 29 of taurus and uranus on 0 capricorn. I tend to think my uranus energy is more alike sagittarious while my jupiter is retrograde so I consider it taurean all the way. maybe it's a matter of in which way you develop your personality. like picking one predisposition out of two. that potentialy could explain while you 'feel' more Leonine now and again
