Well, it's not a square, but I have a 12th house moon oppose 6th house Uranus. Basically, my home life was not stable and we moved around a lot, and my mother moods swung like Benny Goodman...however, as an adult it's translated into my needing to work for myself...that's probably the 6th house Uranus.
I think Moon/Uranus in hard aspects brings a lot of sudden shifts in mood and also startling insights. It gives a bit of Aquarian flavor to the moon.

Don't know about Moon/Mars. I would think it adds a degree of fieriness.

no, squares are not necessarily negative. i wouldnt look at them as negative at all. they present a challenge..something you will have to WORK at to balance out and become comfortable. people just see it as negative because they want everything to be easy lol

I saw a couple of sites on line that said negative things about moon squaring mars and moon squaring uranus. It also mentioned the mother a lot. One thing said something about the mother being important because of difficulties. Does it also matter where the moon is (example: house and sign)? It almost seems that the moon may be more important than the sun.

Moon = where you've been
Sun = Where you're going
Rising = How you get there

Moon connects with the childhood and mother.
Squares aren't negative, they are a challenge. The native has free will is the bottom line....to choose awareness.
Yes, the house the moon occupies says more about the person.

Ooh i got moon square mars and im famous for my emotions being explosive and cataclysmic when they erupt.

My r/s with my mother is probably the most significant, im a cancer and she's a young milf pisces (had me when she was 21) so she was more like a sister than a mother, just b/c she never had the stereotypical look of "mother". I'm a straight up copy of my mum, next model up lol but b/c we're so similar and the same, we clash. If we have a fight, we dont speak for a month, totally ignoring each other and we're living under the same roof. She's not the type of mum to go to for hug, she's not the type to say "i love you" but she will tell u straight up the good stuff about you and is an awesome person to talk to when your going thru stuff.

I guess cos she had me so young she kinda subconsciously resents me without meaning or wanting to putting a stop to her life at such a young age and sentencing her to a life of housework and raising children, like a typical meditterenean housewife...which i why i guess she pushed education hard on me and put the pressure to finish school and get into uni. In any case, my mother has a lot to do with my confidence, self esteem and the decision i make. They always come back to her.

I guess having my moon and pluto in 7th house (ruled by libra) might have something to do with it too.

This persons moon is in the 12th house. I wanted to get you guys oppinion and experiences on this one because I have had people tell me not to always believe what I read on the internet. I read one thing that said that the moon isn't the mother. Also, I know 2 people with this placement.

its a tense, complicated relationship cos my mum's a very powerful woman (pisces, dragon in chinese astrology and its known that they're NOT the types to settle down with a family etc), we defnitely starting to build more of a friendship that's based on common ground rather than on different levels as mother and daughter. She's living the fun she missed out on through me haha. Wonder what will happen when i have my own kids

Lunarxtc, I bet you will be a good mom. What does the moon in the 12th house mean? You said that yours is in the 7th house. Isn't that the house of relationships?

i would think that someone with the moon in 12th would have a very strong intuition with others, a deep understanding on a person's inner psyche.

ok will now go look up the actual meaning of moon in 12th...to see how far off i was lol

Moon in the 12th -

With the Moon in the Twelfth House your feeling, instinctive nature will find expression through reflective meditation and quiet contemplation. Your sensitive emotional nature tends to shy away from social confutation, feelings are fragile and you are easily hurt. At times, others may view you as a lonely, emotionally withdrawn person. Your day-to-day response to circumstance is strongly conditioned by current environmental conditions and your emotional ability to cope with events - energy levels fluctuate with mood and surrounding circumstances. You may gain satisfaction from some form of selfless behind-the-scenes service involving sacrifice on your part. Occasionally, it is important for your general health and well-being that you seek seclusion in order to renew your emotional strength. Mystical ability is indicated and there is likely to be a keen interest in things spiritual.

here's another one:
Moon in the 12th House

*Your own feelings and emotions are something of an enigma to you, and it is often difficult for you to share with others what you are feeling.

You frequently withdraw from contact with the world, and need a healing, peaceful environment in order to blossom and come out of yourself.

You identify with the oppressed, disenfranchised or underdog in any situation and want to help them or care for them in some way.

and another:

Moon in the 12th House

You have a need to spend some time alone. Periodic withdrawal from the "real world" allows you to level out emotionally and rejuvenate yourself psychologically. You are sensitive, intuitive and sometimes restless. You can gain more life satisfaction by helping those who cannot help themselves via a career choice or volunteer work.

Thank you leaping. So then I would guess that someone with the moon square mars and uranus in the 12th house is someone that is sensitive and has a lot of emotions but holds them in. Someone that cares but doesn't really understand how to show it. Where does the squaring come in though? Could it be someone that cares for their mothers emotions but doesn't really understand them and doesn't know how to show it, so it would frustrate them?
