Topic: Working around synastry blocks and squares

Has anyone been in a relationship where your synastry/composite is really tough and challenging and NOT yummy in many ways, yet you still really, really like each other? What did you do to work with or through the blocks? What are ways to deal with dynamics such as a Mars-Saturn conjunction, Mercury squared Mercury, Sun squared Saturn, etc? IP: Logged |

too many trines and sextiles and the energy sedates me into a coma.Look at your natal and see what most of your personal planetary aspects are made up of... might give you the answer? IP: Logged |

You can keep the squares LOL! I have mostly trines and conjuncts in my natal. I can't deal with them LOL!------------------

Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)

Most of my chart is Conjunctions and Squares...so I need it alittle rough around the edges for excitement. Its all about whats in your own chart as to whether or not you can handle those irritating squares. There is either you love em or hate them...if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen lol. I think thats what might be my problem with love, there will be times when a guy is really into me likes me and calls me alot , but for some reason I just don't feel it or it gets boring real quick..then I look at the synastry and find a bevy of trines and sextiles. Too many easy aspects an cutesy placements. But on the other hand when I really go nuts over a person and want to be with them, showing much interest it turns out that the person just gets uncomfortable around and annoyed by me..it turns out usually there are rough and crude aspects in our synastry, such as Mars square Mars, Mars square Pluto, Sun square Mars etc...------------------
Sun in Libra
Moon in Cancer
Jupiter in Cancer
Venus in Virgo
Mars in Cancer

I agree squares do keep things interesting..but some of the planets involved in a square are just FRUSTRATING. Sun square Mercury for example..or Mercury square Mercury. But..natally I have Sun conjunct Mercury so I think I prefer the two being more in tune than at odds. Likewise, Venus square Venus ****** me off in synastry lol .. but my Venus has mostly all positive/flowing aspects in my chart. ------------------

This makes sense, and explains why I enjoy transiting planets square my natal planets sometimes more than trines. But, in my relationship with this guy I'm getting to know, the Mercury squares feel soooo menacing. We keep coming back to each other and sort of trying again, I think because we geniunely like each other as people, but even when we try to communicate openly and be really openhearted, we keep a) getting confused by each other's signals, b) emotionally hurting each other completely unintentionally, and c) having these communication blocks, battles, and impasses. We have a double whammy Sun Square Mercury, and then Mercury Square Mercury. We have a lot of other squares too, but also "harmonious" aspects. It is a strange connection where sometimes we both just feel elated to be around each other, but it's like we can't get to that place very often, and sometimes we'll see each other, both hoping it will be wonderful like that, and it's like there's a stone wall between us, and even when I open my heart and try to change it, I can't. (His Moon squares my Mars, too, and we have a double whammy Mars-Jupiter square.) IP: Logged |

i will 2nd everything you said here. that double whammy of sun sq. mercury and mercury sq. mercury is very hard in a relationship with other very positive aspects. i feel the exact same w/ the guy i have these aspects with. drives us crazy.. IP: Logged |

augentier, do you find that you both really (and obviously) WANT to get past the communication blocks?For me, that's the hardest part. It's frustrating too that I can tell it's not just me--I can see him really trying too! And it still doesn't work. Are the two of you together? Have you found some solutions for working with this? We are not together and communcation was the reason we split in the first place..he tries, but not to the extent i want him to. it's not nearly enough. so i stopped trying, too =/IP: Logged |

Aw, too bad. It's hard when the good stuff is so good, yet the blocks are so total.I've noticed that some of the aspects I thought would stop this guy and I from ever hooking up, I also had with my ex. Ugh. IP: Logged |

i wonder about this too. our composite is ALL trines and sextiles (no opps, no squares), but our synastry is a nice mix of all aspects. my natal is full of squares and his is mostly trines and sextiles, but a few heavy oppositions too. he's a libra rising so i think he's into balancing opposites, but i wonder a lot about how our natal aspect patterns determine our needs for harmony and conflict/challenge, and whether our super happy composite is too easy for me, and whether our more challenging synastry is too much for him (he hasn't many squares natally), or if it's good cuz he's libra rising.IP: Logged |

heart cakes, I almost always find synastry more informative/accurate than the composite. The composite seems more like a map of the relationship you two will have and where its focus will be, while synastry show how you'll each respond to the emotional dynamics between you. So I would guess that your more balanced easy/challenging synastry would show your interactions better...and also, that if your natal chart is more challenging, you might be the edgier/more dynamic/more driven one out of the two of you as people. (Even though, with the smooth as silk composite, the relationship is probably not an edgy/dynamic/driven/explosive one.) IP: Logged |
