Topic: Leo or Virgo? - What's my Rising sign?

For 28 years, I thought my birth time was 11:30 am which puts my asc in Leo, but the past year, my parents seem to think it may be 11:50 am, which puts my asc in Virgo! So recently I've been using my Virgo Asc, but it's a BIG DIFFERENCE! I can see myself being more Leo when I was younger, but now I feel more Virgo! I don't know if it's psychosomatic. I don't know which one I am though, and I always go back and forth between the two. Please help me once and for all decide my Ascendant! I can look sweet, or b*tchy depending on my hair and makeup, so I'll put up 2 pics showing both sides. LOL! Please cast your votes! (deleted)

i will tell u ( i already have a guess..i am 99% sure, but to be 100% tell me)who wld u pick...both guys are good looking
A; one is off beat, very independent, objective and aloof... b: other is mysterious but kind and sensitive but a bit hard to pin down A or B.... no deep thinking just a quick response IP: Logged |

What are the placements in your chart for the two potential Ascendant rulers - sun and mercury?
So far I'm leaning towards Leo for you, maybe late Leo? Draw up your chart with a hypothetical Asc in 25 Leo, and see how that feels  And you may feel more like a Virgo AC now since your progressed ascendant is most likely in Virgo now. IP: Logged |

lolbased on yr answer i will say y are leo ( was trying to see wht was yr descendant,,,with leo u have acquariius so this is wht u seek in a partner with virgo its our sweet charming pisces) but my guess was virgo and now that u r so worried abt pics being big....lol
this is so not leo...u r definetly a virgo rising...

Wow, 2 people see Leo rising? I never felt Leo though, cause I hate the spotlight, and am no lioness. I'm very meticulous, and anxiety ridden, like a Virgo, but the Virgo rising doesn't seem to fit cause of the DSC, like Emma said cause I don't like sweet, mysterious Pisces-esque guys. I'm more into the Aqua men. This is why I'm so confused. I just want to know my rising sign, once and for all. IP: Logged |

Wow it's a pretty close call.
Both potential rulers in Gemini in 10th - which doesn't make it any easier But hey you will have a "gemini" flavour to you regardless of the ascendant, upping your Gem quota even more.I still stand by late Leo.
You could look at house cusps and see which seem to fit better.(I know this changes depending on what house system you use, but for the sake of argument, lets use Placidus) For instance, cap on the 5th would be less likely to be exuberant,extravagant,enthusiastic and expansive with seeking pleasure, romance, good times, etc than a sag on your 5th.
Cap would be more cautious,pre-planning things in advance, wheres the sag would go with the flow. Cap would set limits to how much fun you would allow yourself to have.etc Or the 6th - your options are quirky oddball aqua, or serious and sturdy cap. Which is more reflective to how you approach everyday mundane living, and your working habits? IP: Logged |

Not all leo's are spotlight hoggers, and not all virgo's are anxious and nitpicky hypochondriacs.You are a Gem sun,moon AND Mercury- that alone would give you enough restless nervous energy to power a nuclear reactor. In fact, you hardly have any fire placements,
so the rest of your chart would mitigate the fiery ascendant, toning it down-as all your personal planets are in air, or earth. Just my 2 cents I'm sure there will be many opposite and just as valid views. P.S Saturn in 1st..that would damper and reign in even the mightiest leonine ego.

definitely leo, esp with the 2nd pic.. so pretty! glowing and regal thats leo. maybe late degree and has since progressed to virgo upon reading what you wrote above, leo when younger and then virgo growing older.edit: i have 2 deg leo rising and would not like big pics of me posted on a site, lmao!  the quieter stately leo is more willing to let others share in the light and would not hog the stage in most instances. leo wants everyone to have their place in the sun  i have a 2'x4' mirror with a fabulous ornate gold leaf frame in my living room and will routinely tell my daughter "go kiss the mirror and see how beautiful you are" haha I'm sure her leo mars ego just loves that cos she's got no probs in following through on leo asc mom's orders IP: Logged |

yes, im a leo riser, and sun, and, although i love what i call 'positive' attention, i do not like uncalled for attention.im quite picky about attention. i don't like attention from big groups of people, with 50 pairs of eyes staring at me, i hate that. thats why i don't think my sun is int he 1stH. my saturn bequintiles my asc, that gives me a earthy serious tone, and tones down the lego. so leo riser doesn't mean you have to have attention. LL09, I'm totally that way too, I hate uncalled for attention. I'm not the girl dancing on the tables, or dressing sexy. I've always been very conservative in the way I dress. The reason for my pre-conceived notions about Leos, is cause some of my Leo friends, they are the sweetest people you'll ever meet, but total attention, and drama seekers. They are the scantilly clad girls dancing on the tables at clubs. That has never been me, so I never felt Leo. Never met a quiet, non-drama seeking, Leo. LOL! Redstar, I almost forgot about my good old Saturn in my first house! I've always felt a serious tone permeate throughout my youth, and moreso now that I just had my saturn return too, so maybe that's why i feel so much more Virgo! It's maddening not to be sure of my rising sign though, I keep having to check to charts, to see when transits go exact, and for synastry too. IP: Logged |

no prog asc still leo, tho virgo soon! 2-26* takes up the first house so it's been some yrs now!hey so do you attract the aquas? the aqua dsc should be attractive to libra and gem sun men as well. so have you noticed lots of airy men around you? also are you inclined to want space in your relationships? room to breathe? but then youd prob have this with all that gemini...its so funny to me because ive known a good number of aqua risings and they seem to want more closeness,, moreso than the leo risers. not that they're remote, but you do tend to display your dsc in romantic relationships. and no way for me dancing on tables! not even my leo sun leo moon -or- leo moon leo venus friends would do that.. my leo venus leo mars friend might, but then she has that aries moon. also do leo suns like you, take you into their confidence (they'll do it either out right praising you or quietly and respectfully giving you the attention and deference they think you deserve), i've noticed if there is a sun sign that just routinely seems to adore you [more often than not] it's likely that their sun is in your 1st or their sun is same sign as your asc. also lots of my friends over the years have had the same rising as me, discounting exact degree - so maybe look to that as well? if you know their times. also if you encounter people every so often and think "you are so cute!" and its more emotional rather than physical/sexual attraction - it's likely their moon is conj your asc. happens a lot. you just can't get over how cute they are, their mannerisms, you'll just find yourself exclaiming it or thinking it over and over [barring any harsh aspects]. i have cap moon and if it can happen with someone with a cap rising it can happen with anyone edit: im around this new man i like very much who's sag sun leo moon [conj my asc] cancer rising and at the risk of sounding like a complete *toad* i squelch the desire, but all his mannerisms are so adorable it's hard to not say anything! You're beautiful! And to me, you look entirely like a Gemini...but then I am hopeless at guessing ascendents. I can look at someone and guess the element of their Sun sign sometimes, but often even the wrong sign within the element.I would lean toward Virgo, not from what you look like, but from some of the traits you've described. Also, I do get more of a Virgo feeling from that look--they tend to have a delicate beauty. Ascendents govern how we begin things, how we act in new situations, and what our default behavior is when feeling shy (and yes, ALL 12 signs feel shy or insecure sometimes.) When you are feeling a little shy or insecure in a new situation: A) If you feel anxious, nervous, tic-y (as in, with physical tics), worried about what problems might happen and whether everything will work smoothly--Virgo.
B) If you feel a bit shamed/embarrassed, worried about what everyone thinks about you and whether you look good and whether everyone will like you--Leo. quote:

Depending on the degree that 11:30 would put your ASC at, your progressed ASC could be in Virgo, which is why you might feel more like a Virgo now more than in the past.My progressed ASC moved from Gemini to Cancer, and I definitely feel like a Cancer Rising in some respects. My test in regards to where your ASC might be is what houses your Sun and Mercury (the potential chart rulers) would be in. IP: Logged |
